Chapter 9 Pursuit on the Plains
Chapter 9 Pursuit on the Plains
Without further delay, the group followed Aragorn to the camp.
Alwen gathered the other elves along the way, and they headed to the camp together.
The first thing the group saw upon arriving at the camp was Frodo, who was already in a daze.
And Sam and several other hobbits nearby.
Tie Hui stood behind, his eyes fixed on Frodo's chest.
That was where the One Ring was located. His fingers, hanging at his sides, twitched slightly, and several times he had the urge to take out the grenade from the dimensional space and throw it down.
But he managed to suppress them all!
Alvin, his face filled with grief, picked up Frodo and said to his companion, "We need to speed things up. He really can't hold on much longer; I can feel his pain!"
Upon hearing Alwen's words, Tie Hui instantly snapped out of his reverie, took a deep breath, and preemptively declared, "I'll hold off those Ringwraiths!"
Alvin looked at him, nodded solemnly, then picked up Frodo and mounted the white horse that had been led over by another elven guard, and galloped off towards Rivendell without looking back.
Meanwhile, Aragorn, watching his departing lover, couldn't shake the worry on his face.
Tie Hui mounted his horse and, looking at Aragorn who was still gazing intently, couldn't help but laugh, "Once this is over, you two will have plenty of time together! I just hope you won't get tired of each other by then!"
Upon hearing this, the surrounding elves almost burst out laughing.
Upon hearing this, Aragorn merely glanced at Ironbeak before mounting his horse.
And so, the group was divided into three teams!
Leading the way were Alvin and the unconscious Frodo.
Behind him were the elven guards, Ironbeam, and Aragorn.
Finally, there are three hobbits carrying luggage and riding ponies.
The group escaped unscathed after a series of close calls!
Until we emerged from the rugged mountain path and entered the vast plains!
The atmosphere gradually became heavy!
But no one hesitated; instead, they continued to move quickly toward Rivendell.
Alvin was stroking his horse's neck, gently telling it to bear the fatigue of the journey.
Ironhide and Aragorn and the others were in hot pursuit a few miles behind.
"ah--"
But just as they were about to enter the pine forest, a mournful howl echoed across the entire plain.
Upon hearing the voice, Alvin turned around in shock to look in the direction from which it came.
"ah--"
Then came an even louder howl!
Upon hearing this sound for the first time, Alvin dared not delay any longer and instead urged the horses to run even faster.
Ironbeam and the other elves also heard the two howls and rushed towards Alwen.
At the same time, they each drew their longbows from their waists!
"ah--"
Another howl rang out, this time even closer!
Everyone was on high alert and chased after them into the pine forest.
The obstruction of the pine forest forced everyone to begin to disperse.
This also gave the Ringwraiths an opportunity to take advantage of the situation.
whoosh-
The sound of an arrow piercing the air was fleeting!
Before Tie Hui could react, the enormous impact slammed into his chest.
The impact was so great that the reins slipped from his hand.
He was thrown backward uncontrollably!
"Be careful!"
Tie Hui's heart pounded wildly, and suddenly he felt a long, flat thing catch him on his back.
That stopped him from falling off the horse!
Immediately afterwards, the long, flat object on his back suddenly pushed forward, lifting him back onto the horse.
The dramatic changes that occurred in just a few seconds made Tie Hui's heart leap into his throat.
He felt the pain in his chest and the sound of his heartbeat, which could be heard even in this noisy environment.
Tie Hui then realized just how dangerous it had been!
In particular, the bulletproof armor that Brian had prepared for him saved his life at that moment.
Otherwise, given the Ringwraith's strength, that arrow could have pierced right through him.
It was only then that Tie Hui turned around to look, wondering who had caught him.
It turned out that Aragorn had noticed something was wrong and had already come over!
At this moment, he was holding the longsword in his right hand, which was already beginning to retract; clearly, this was the very thing that had caught him just now.
Tie Hui didn't say much, just nodded in greeting.
Aragorn nodded in response, sheathed his longsword, drew his longbow, and fired an arrow in the direction from which the arrow had come.
Tie Hui lowered his body to the ground on the horse's back and took out a laser pistol.
He simultaneously whipped the horse's rump, increasing its speed even further, and galloped rapidly towards Alvin's direction.
This battlefield is not suitable for him!
At this moment, the elves had also drawn their elven longbows and retaliated against the Ringwraiths who were blocking their way.
Arrows were shot out every now and then, and one or two of them would hit the Ringwraiths, causing them to let out mournful howls.
But at the same time, the Ringwraiths' counterattack became even fiercer, and the two sides only clashed briefly.
Some elven guards had already been shot and fallen from their horses.
Although they wore chainmail underneath their clothes, they were still unable to resist the Nazghun's arrows, which were imbued with death magic.
Tie Hui was unaware of these subsequent developments and simply accelerated forward.
Because he could already see ahead, there were five Ringwraiths riding side by side around Arwen.
Without further hesitation, he immediately fastened the wrist strap, raised the laser pistol in his hand, and prepared to aim and fire.
"ah--"
But the next second, the howl of the Ringwraith suddenly came, so close that it seemed to be right next to his ear, making Tie Hui's brain buzz and his vision blur.
This caused him to lose control of his limbs!
This is a unique spiritual impact from the Ringwraiths!
Taking advantage of this opportunity, a Ringwraith suddenly leaped out from the nearby woods, raising the Cavern Sword in his hand and slashing it at Ironbeak's head.
But at the critical moment, a mysterious force suddenly dispelled the buzzing in my brain.
Tie Hui snapped out of his daze and clenched his fist tightly as he was about to loosen the reins.
He also noticed the longsword swinging towards him, and suddenly ducked low as the sword grazed the back of his head, bringing a chill with it.
Without a second thought, he raised the laser pistol in his hand and pulled the trigger at the approaching Ringwraith.
The two sides were only one or two meters apart!
It struck the Ringwraith directly in the body, causing it to howl in agony.
Although its wails were still piercing, the mentally charged buzzing was gone!
Four or five rapid shots in quick succession knocked the Ringwraith off his horse.
Meanwhile, an elf who was still engaged in battle at the rear saw a Ringwraith fall from his horse and immediately turned his longbow in the direction of the enemy.
With a sudden release of the bowstring, the arrow pierced straight into the head of the Ringwraith who had just stood up.
The arrow struck the Ringwraith again, sending him sprawling backward.
Tie Hui ignored all of that and raised his laser pistol again, aiming at the Ringwraiths dozens of meters ahead.
Some Ringwraiths have already approached Arwen, using whispered necromancy to tempt Frodo in her arms to willingly embrace the Wraiths.
