Warhammer 30: The Second Legion's Expedition

Chapter 35 Iron 7's Rebellion

Chapter 35 Iron 7's Rebellion

"You want it."

+What do you want me to do?+

Seemingly fed up with the stuttering way the alien spoke, Hado squatted on the ground and began to gnaw on human severed limbs.

"I told you long ago that you should eat more of these creamy, delicious-tasting pig brains."

"This way you can learn these common languages, and perhaps in the future we can use them to deceive humans and gain their trust."

+Disgusting+

Haddo holds up a human leg bone in his hand.

Compared to those soft and mushy brains, Hado still prefers chewy foods and enjoys the granular feel of bones breaking in his mouth and bone fragments getting embedded in it.

"Your brain is so smooth that there's no reason for it to exist," Ika said. "Even if I turned you into a brainless weapon like those guys, I might think that would be a little more normal for you, at least you'd look like you have a brain."

"Idiot," Ika cursed.

A clear liquid began to drip from its skin, leaving a scar-like mark on its slightly darker skin.

Those are the substances they are expelling from human genes.

Hadoo ignored it and tirelessly moved from one location to another, feeding the insatiable hunger.

Ignored by its companion's indifference, the withered head with sunken eye sockets in Ika's hand suddenly rose from its grasp and flew towards Hado.

However, just as his head was about to hit the target, Hado took a sudden, exaggerated bite in mid-air.

A perfectly smooth, laser-cut gash was left on his head.

Hado chewed on that shriveled, dehydrated head.

Stop wasting time, what exactly are we supposed to do?

That dangerous guy has spotted us.

+Although it's hard to admit, it possesses an unimaginable resistance to psionic energy and control.+

Hado asked.

The only sound in the silent room was the crunching of the alien feeding on flesh.

Not far from them, in sync with their conversation, the planetary governor and the supreme commander of the Iron Seven Planetary Defense Force also began their dialogue in perfect unison.

"We need to leave this planet; it's no longer safe," Ika replied. "We're trapped here."

We can leave at any time.

"No, our people will not be willing to leave with us. Our psionic abilities are insufficient to control an entire powerful fleet, or even ships, capable of providing us with interstellar travel."

"We are too small in space."

"Without a legitimate identity and without supplies, we are easily destroyed by space pirates or other races."

"The ensuing cosmic radiation will instantly kill all our puppets, and if we are unfortunately caught in it, our chances of survival are extremely slim."

Although the Kraf Xenomorph's face almost always only showed two expressions: ferocious and normal, Hado, being of the same kind, could still sense the emotions expressed by his companion.

+You have too many concerns+

Hadodao.

In response, Ika retorted, "Weren't we brought here because we were destroyed by those damned groups called merchant ronin?"

Haddo was caught up in unpleasant memories, which dated back about nine years.

Ships laden with hungry Kraf aliens suddenly appeared in this sector.

They happened to encounter a ship carrying the Second Legion of Astartes, preparing to fly to the Realm of Irios to meet Hector, the Second Primarch who had not yet returned to the Empire.

The traveling merchant had instinctively wanted to have a friendly negotiation with the distinctive alien-shaped ship, and the Clough alien had the same intention.

Then, the traveling merchant suddenly remembered the Second Legion, Astartes, who was resting on the ship, and broke out in a cold sweat.

Then, the approaching Kraf aliens, ready for a feast, saw the previously calm ships suddenly change position and point their massive broadside cannons at them.

Then came a salvo, and the flames instantly destroyed half of their ships.

Only a few Kraf aliens that had boarded the spaceship at that time survived.

The moment the deeply buried memories resurfaced, Hado stopped eating and nodded to Ika, agreeing with her idea.

Space is just too damn dangerous.

Humans are so despicable.

Hado said indignantly, then inwardly marveled at how perfectly delicious it was.

Ika ignored Hado, the rabid dog who only knew how to eat.

It dragged its somewhat overly long court dress past the two puppets, the supreme commanders of the two planets, who were still having a silent dialogue.

It stands in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows in the office, offering a panoramic view of the entire Upper Nest.

It began to detach itself from the material universe. Each of the Kraf aliens was a born psionic master, possessing not only strong, twisted limbs but also extraordinary psionic power.

This makes them even more obsessed with themselves, even though their technology is not weak.

Furthermore, unlike most alien races and humans, when they use psionic energy, their projection in the warp is extremely subtle, almost emitting no light, and making it very difficult to attract the attention of demons and predators in the warp.

Especially now that the warp storms have subsided and the barriers of the real universe are at their strongest, these newly born Kraf aliens have long lost their awe of using psionic powers.

As Ika's psionic energy was withdrawn, the highest commander of the planetary defense forces slammed his head on the table.

The psionic energy began to spread throughout the entire hive.

Ika could feel the power surging within it.

Strands and wisps of spiritual energy, like rivers or comet trails, leaped joyfully, yearning to materialize, yearning to form a real door.

Ica did not do that. It touched its frost-covered, extremely dry clothes, and regretfully shattered a corner of them. Then it took a deep breath, allowing its somewhat stretched and satisfied soul to find some relief.

The dazedness and greed in his eyes quickly faded.

"They moved faster than I expected."

"I have seen in many places those humans, exactly like those in the projection, encased in iron armor."

+Same as him+

Hador walked to the point where the psychic energy was no longer crushing him, and the festering, rotting flesh began to disintegrate.

"Yes," Ika affirmed.

How many are there?

"How many can you accept?" Ika asked back.

Hado's psychic message, delivered without hesitation, reached Ika's mind.

+200+

+No, one hundred+

It hesitated, lowering its ferocious head to look at the folded fingers on the muddy puddle.

Hador could almost feel the unyielding rage emanating from his master.

If everyone were as fearless as it is, then there would be a hundred+

That's unfortunate.

Even so, Ika's words didn't sound so urgent: "At least four hundred people."

"But their separation gave us an opportunity."

+What opportunity+

Hado asked.

"Integrate our fellow countrymen, enslave the soldiers here, launch an attack on those people, and finally control the mind of that giant, turning him into our puppet and slave."

"We will take control of that massive warship."

"We will take control of the masters of these human warriors."
