Chapter 126. Negotiations within the Base
Stark Underground Base, outside the Mirror Space Gate.
A dozen or so familiar faces had gathered here. Apart from a few people, everyone else stared in shock at the silver-white portal that seemed like something out of a fantasy.
It was so magnificent, and the light emanating from within its doors was even more divine.
Bathed in light, it felt as if every cell in my body had been cleansed, and a sense of ease and power welled up within me, as if my life was about to leap to another level.
Of course, the most eye-catching feature is the colossal base that is out of sight within the natural portal.
Whether it's its overall silvery-white, perfectly integrated structure that doesn't seem man-made, or the small sun located in the center that radiates captivating light, it all evokes a strong sense of unreality.
The world seemed to have changed quietly, so fast that they were caught off guard.
"Stark, so you've been away for so long researching this kind of thing? Unbelievable, it's really beautiful." Natasha exclaimed, the creation before her not like a creation, but rather like a gift from the gods, a manifestation of the universe, full of sacred meaning.
"Uh," Stark really didn't want to miss this opportunity to show off, but unfortunately he didn't actually create this thing; he only made a framework.
"In fact, I only provided the framework for this base; the one who truly created it was Ji Yuan."
Natasha turned her head and glanced at Ji Yuan, who had a unique air about him, and chuckled softly, "Then it's not surprising."
Upon hearing this, Steve, Matt, Coulson, and the others, who had experienced Ji Yuan's miraculous abilities, quickly recovered from their shock.
If this was done by Stark, it would indeed be shocking, but if it came from Ji Yuan, it wouldn't be so surprising. Ji Yuan's power and mystery are already deeply ingrained in people's minds.
"By the way, Stark, what did you gather us together to discuss?" Coulson asked, puzzled. He was still busy cleaning up a mess.
After Stark finished speaking, the others also turned to him with eager eyes.
Stark smiled mysteriously: "Let's go to the conference room first. Captain Steve will tell you the reason."
"Jarvis, take us up there," he called out.
As soon as he finished speaking, a huge white disc flew down from the super-giant base and hovered in front of everyone.
They made a strange discovery: the white disc was just a white disc, without any trace of mechanical construction or propulsion system, yet it could float in the air.
Without much doubt, everyone stepped onto the disc. What exactly happened would soon be revealed.
In Stark's blueprints, the base was originally divided into various zones, including living quarters, weapons zones, combat training zones, observation zones, conference rooms, and so on.
With the disc propelling them, they quickly arrived at the conference room.
"The Hulk?" Natasha exclaimed in surprise. She never expected that the Hulk, whom she had been searching for so long, would be sitting in the conference room.
She subconsciously reached for her waist, but stopped midway. She suddenly realized that this was Ji Yuan's territory, and the Hulk must have a reason for being here.
Hulk seemed to sense something, glancing at Natasha indifferently before continuing to devour the chicken legs, fried chicken, and other high-calorie foods in front of him.
While eating, he muttered, "Hulk likes to eat, Hulk likes his life now."
Completely ignoring the incessant blues popping in my head, about how high-calorie foods make you fat and how high fat content is unhealthy.
Steve smiled and introduced, "This is Hulk. According to Ji Yuan, he and Bruce are one body with two souls. Don't be fooled by his big size; he's only a few months old."
"What? It's only been a few months?"
Peter and Pietro tilted their heads in unison, looking at Hulk with shocked expressions.
The two of them had been sunbathing and doing physical and magical training at the base for the past few days, so they naturally got to know the big guy Hulk and the gentle Bruce.
But no matter how hard they racked their brains, they couldn't believe that Hulk was only a few months old, which was simply outrageous.
Steve spread his hands, saying helplessly, "Actually, I didn't believe it at first either, but it's true. Okay, none of that matters. Let's talk about today's events."
After Steve finished speaking, everyone took their seats and were surprised to find that these seats seemed to have been made for them, automatically evolving the most suitable microstructures to make them more comfortable, which was simply outrageous.
"Alright." Steve coughed twice and said slowly, "I think everyone knows that Hydra has been completely exposed and S.H.I.E.L.D. has been completely disbanded."
Everyone nodded; this was already common knowledge worldwide, so there was nothing strange about it.
Steve continued, "After the dismantling of S.H.I.E.L.D., I held discussions with representatives of the World Security Council, given that I was the one who exposed S.H.I.E.L.D.'s conspiracy, and that the world did indeed need a suitable organization to combat super events."
"So, after discussions among all parties, they gave me the power to create this organization, but it will still be subject to supervision. We call this organization the Alliance of Light, which means bringing the light of hope to all beings."
"And this base will become the Alliance base in the future, and you all here are the first batch of recruited members."
After hearing Steve's words, Coulson couldn't help but ask, "An organization similar to S.H.I.E.L.D."
Steve nodded and shook his head, a smile playing on his lips: "This is just a cover before the tower is built. When the facilities take to the skies and the tower stands tall, all the Alliance of Light will do is protect the weak and spread hope, and cleanse the evil forces invading the world and the universe. We will not serve any nation or organization."
"However, this will cause dissatisfaction and rejection from the government," Natasha said.
As a special agent, she knew very well what kind of reaction this would cause. An uncontrolled super organization would only bring endless fear and repression.
Steve smiled. He had already seen through everything. In the secret government files that Jarvis had collected, they already had various laws targeting superheroes, aimed at controlling and regulating them.
This is not just about restricting freedom. Most people become arrogant once they have power, and given the example of Hydra, Steve doesn't believe these so-called UN task forces won't be corrupted.
His initial talks with the United Nations were merely a prelude to create momentum and avoid unnecessary panic.
Steve stood up, seemingly bathed in a soft glow, his tone serious and firm: "There's no need to worry about threats or suppression from any country, because behind our alliance isn't any country, but Ultraman. If they have any complaints, they should go find Ultraman."
"And we just need to do what we're supposed to do."
