Leon said with a chuckle.
"Why are you suddenly making me marry the vampire saintess? Why did that guy who recited poetry suddenly appear? Why is there a dragon at the wedding? You seem to have known all along what's going on."
Leon had no intention of playing the brotherhood card with Leon, so he simply changed the subject.
"Brother, I'll take you somewhere."
Leon grabbed Leon's sleeve.
"Go somewhere?"
Leon was puzzled.
"Well, you wanted to know the answer, right? I'll tell you."
Leon gave a mysterious smile.
"Row."
Leon paused for a moment, but in the end, he let Leon pull him through the spirit world.
After passing through countless halos of light resembling ripples, Leon finally led Leon back into the real world.
After leaving the spirit world, all the bizarre and fantastical things disappeared, and the world returned to normal.
"What did you bring me here for?"
Looking at the massive white wall in front of him, and the Imperial White Phoenix flag fluttering atop it, Leon suddenly felt a surge of immense fear.
This is the tomb of the late emperor, the legendary founding emperor of Fchester who reigned for over 250 years.
"Of course, I'll introduce you to my grandfather."
"Leon replied."
"What a joke! Our imperial grandfather has been dead for almost fifty years. He passed away before we were even born. What would we do to see him?"
Leon frowned.
"Brother, you seem to know nothing."
Leon looked at Leon and said, his gaze like that of someone lying on the edge of a well, looking at a shallow frog at the bottom of the well.
"Let's go."
Before Leon could speak, he took the lead and walked towards the main road leading to the tomb entrance.
Leon was puzzled. There were usually soldiers standing guard along the main road, but there wasn't a single one today.
"I've sent all the soldiers away."
Leon seemed to know what Leon was thinking, and without asking Leon, he explained directly.
Leon stopped when he reached the entrance of the tomb.
"Are we going in?"
"Leon asked."
"Yes."
Leon smiled, then took a glowing gem from his pocket and placed it in the recess of the tomb door. Then, the mechanical gears creaked as the tomb door opened automatically with a rumble.
Following Leon, aside from the particularly stuffy air, we didn't encounter any of the terrifying corpse monsters or watermelon-sized corpse beetles from tomb raiding movies.
Leon seemed to have been here before; he lit a torch for light and acted as if he knew his way around very well.
Finally, they arrived at the main burial chamber, where Leon lit the candles, revealing its magnificent splendor.
How can I describe it? Even the floor here is made of pure gold.
"Brother, come here."
Leon walked to the only coffin in the cemetery. The coffin was made of crystal, adorned with various rune sculptures, and fitted with gemstones and agates of various shapes.
Because of the extremely high density of crystal, the originally transparent crystal coffin became hazy, making it impossible to see what was inside. To see what was inside, the coffin lid had to be opened.
"What do you mean?"
Leon looked at the coffin, then at Leon.
"What bad intentions could I possibly have? Why don't you guess what's inside the coffin, Your Majesty?"
Leon spoke with a smile.
"Who else could it be but my grandfather? Although he is dead, it is said that the bodies of angels do not decay."
"Leon replied."
"Hmm, perhaps. Why don't you push it open and take a look, Your Majesty?"
Leon laughed.
Why should I push you away?
Leon countered with a question.
"You want to know the truth, don't you? The truth is in the coffin."
Leon answered.
"So you already saw it?"
"Leon asked."
"Yes, about ten years ago, I ended up here by accident."
Leon recalled, "After that, I fell seriously ill. Mr. Avery traveled to Guberlan and cured me. Then I went to the Snow Capital with him."
"Yes, I remember. It seems that your connection with Mr. Avery was indeed due to your illness."
Leon dug into his confused memories and found that it was indeed true.
"Well, the truth might be a little cruel."
Leon said, "You can also choose not to watch."
"Ha, cruel? What cruelty could I not accept?"
Leon chuckled to himself, then tried it and found that it didn't take much effort to push the coffin lid open.
Soon, Leon pushed open a hole in the coffin.
What's inside the coffin?
Leon took the torch from Leon and peered into the coffin.
The side he pushed was facing his head, so the torchlight fell on his face.
The face was ashen, and the lips were bloodless white. But apart from the lack of color, the body was not rotting and there were no signs of lividity. Leon knew that this was because the body had a precious jade inside its mouth that could protect it. As long as the jade was removed, the body would immediately rot and stink.
The problem is that angels' bodies don't need to be treated this way; divine bodies are incorruptible, and that's no exaggeration.
Why was it handled this way?
Because the person lying in the coffin was not the former emperor at all.
It was a very young face, looking to be in his early twenties. He was handsome, and his features were very similar to those of the man who was now nearly sixty, but he lacked the majesty and domineering presence of a monarch.
"he is?"
Leon's breathing became rapid, and he could feel his heart pounding wildly.
"He is Caesar Hoyle, Caesar in his youth, Caesar before he became emperor."
Leon replied, his sly smile vanishing, replaced by an unusually serious expression.
Is he Prince Caesar?
So who is this Julius Caesar now?
Leon felt a chill run through his body. He touched his neck and found it was wet; cold sweat had already soaked his back.
Chapter Two: A New Myth
"Then the guy we've always called Father?"
Although he already had a guess in his mind, Leon still asked the question aloud.
"Your Majesty must have already guessed it."
Leon said calmly, then added, "Yes, if I'm not mistaken, it's my grandfather."
"Grandfather..."
Leon repeated the phrase to himself, then felt it was absurd.
“We never saw what our grandfather looked like, and we never even attended his funeral.”
"Leon said."
If I remember correctly, the late emperor passed away thirty years ago, and Leon is only twenty years old this year.
In other words, oneself...
Ridiculous!
That's absolutely absurd!
"Actually, it's not such a bad thing."
Seeing Leon's ashen face, Leon then joked, "In that case, we, Caesar, and Naden are actually brothers, not father and uncle."
Therefore, Caesar has long since died, and the current emperor is the former emperor, who has not abdicated and has been emperor for nearly three hundred years.
His mother's favorite person was Caesar, and the late emperor's decision to have Prince Caesar marry his mother was probably not about finding a daughter-in-law, but rather about finding a wife for himself.
Nausea.
That's absolutely disgusting.
Why did my mother die suddenly?
Did he really die from illness?
None of this was mentioned in the original anime!
Leon's mother only appears in the dialogue between the characters, and her appearance is never shown.
Therefore, Leon himself did not know what his mother looked like.
"I've heard that angels only have reason, not emotions?"
"Leon asked."
"Ah."
Leon nodded. "So he never really considered us his children; we were just pawns with some value."
"Is that so?"
Leon chuckled.
"In this way, the late emperor's decision to allow Naden to control the military in the north can be reasonably explained."
"Yes, God has no need to fear these things at all."
Leon laughed.
"No, that's not what I meant to say."
Leon replied, then looked at Leon, “Caesar is a mortal and cannot be emperor for long. He wants to remain on the throne but does not want to reveal his identity, so he will definitely pass the throne to me, you, or Naden. But no matter who it is passed to, they will die, and then Leon will continue to be emperor in the identity of the dead person.”
"Well, that's right."
Leon nodded.
"So... Leon, you..."
Leon hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
“I told you, brother, you shouldn’t have been my enemy.”
Leon chuckled. "I wasn't planning on telling you this. Naden doesn't know about it yet. He's still obsessed with becoming emperor. How foolish."
