Chapter 15: Stealing the Ship, Engagement, and Standoff
Chapter 15: Stealing the Ship, Engagement, and Standoff
Lance watched as the four clone soldiers and the little girl headed to the farmer's house, his gaze involuntarily falling on the shuttle.
He would find it hard to bring himself to steal an ordinary person's spaceship.
But he felt no psychological burden whatsoever when it came to replicating people.
Even if it's just collecting some interest.
Once they entered the house, Lance immediately got to work.
He carried Gugu, bent down and moved forward quickly, with R2 working hard to drive its two wheels to follow.
A few minutes later, he arrived at the shuttle.
"R2, open the hatch quickly."
Lance leaned against the spaceship, his eyes fixed on the direction of the farmhouse.
"Beep beep".
R2 located the spaceship's data port and extended a data plug from its abdomen.
After a few turns, the hatch slowly lowered.
"Beep".
"Well done."
Lance praised, his voice low but filled with excitement.
He immediately entered the spaceship and went to the cockpit.
He sat in the driver's seat, a smile on his face, and skillfully pressed a few start buttons.
He gripped the joystick tightly, eager to leave the planet.
However......
The engine is not running.
His smile froze, and after confirming that it was correct, he pressed it again.
But there was still no response.
Lance frowned, realizing that the operating system was locked.
He looked at R2:
"quick."
R2 immediately returned to the data port inside the spacecraft and repeated the operation.
The lock cylinder turned several times in succession, and then it looked at Lance:
"Beep beep..."
"How long will it take to crack?"
"Beep".
"A few more minutes? Let's continue cracking."
Electronics has always been a weakness for Reims.
Faced with this situation, there was nothing he could do but hope for R2.
......
Just as they were trying to crack the code and steal the spaceship, an alarm sounded from the control panel on the man's waist.
The conversation inside the room fell silent instantly, and everyone turned to look at him.
The technician quickly picked up the control panel:
"An alarm has sounded on the spaceship; someone has triggered the activation procedure."
"Given that we are all here, therefore..."
Before he could finish speaking, the hunter wearing a red turban suddenly stood up:
"Thieves are stealing our spaceship."
Before leaving, he gave the little girl some advice:
"Omega, you stay here and wait for us."
As soon as he finished speaking, he led his teammates and ran towards the door.
Upon seeing this, the homeowners exchanged a glance, and the husband got up to retrieve the weapon hanging on the wall.
The wife walked up to the two children, kissed their foreheads, and then sternly warned them not to go out and to stay home with Omega.
"Su".
Carter, holding a blaster rifle, handed another blaster sniper rifle to his wife.
The two exchanged a smile, their understanding unspoken, needing no further words.
They rushed out the door and quickly caught up with the hunters and the others.
A moment later, the spaceship came into view, its hatch already open.
The hunter stopped the group and quickly made arrangements:
"Technician, Obstacle Clearer, Echo, come with me into the spaceship."
He turned to look at the couple:
"Carter, you guys stay outside and keep watch and provide support, in case this is a trap."
Everyone nodded, having no objection to his arrangement.
The group immediately split into two groups.
The hunters and others drew their blaster guns and rushed toward the spaceship.
The Carters hid behind a small hill, keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings and listening carefully to guard against any possible ambush.
......
Lance frowned slightly, sensing several auras rapidly approaching through his Force perception.
"They've been discovered by the copyists."
"So...this is a trap?"
He looked at R2, his tone slightly urgent:
"How much longer?"
"Beep".
"Faster."
He sensed that the group of people were only a few meters away from the spaceship, and there was no time left.
The only option now is to deal with them first and buy time for R2.
Lance placed Gugu in the pilot's seat, while he himself held the lightsaber and positioned himself against the side and rear of the hatch.
The moment they step inside, activate the lightsaber and instantly kill them.
Outside the ladder board.
The hunter had just taken a step when he felt a sudden chill.
An unprecedented sense of crisis swept through my body like a cold front.
He suddenly raised his hand to stop his comrade behind him.
The group remained silent, their eyes filled with confusion as they looked at him.
The hunter did not respond; his gaze was fixed on the hatch.
He quickly made a gesture, signaling the group to retreat.
Everyone immediately moved close to the underside of the wing for cover.
He raised his hand and pointed to the echo, then to the data port.
He understood and stepped forward.
He raised his right arm.
His forearm had been modified into a mechanical one, with a metal rod protruding below his wrist.
Echo inserted the metal rod into the spaceship's port.
The lock cylinder immediately began to turn.
Inside the spaceship.
The R2's body shuddered, emitting several rapid sounds, mixed with a hint of annoyance.
The next moment, it accelerated its cracking speed again.
Humans and robots engaged in a bloodless duel on the battlefield of code.
Lance stood still, holding his breath and waiting.
However, the other party did not break in for a long time.
He tilted his head slightly, looked at R2, and lowered his voice:
"Why isn't it done yet?"
"...Beep...Beep".
"What? Someone is reverse-encrypting?"
Just as he was distracted, two smoke grenades were thrown in at high speed.
Clang, clang.
The smoke grenade rolled a few times on the ground.
The next moment, two plumes of thick smoke suddenly gushed out.
My vision was quickly swallowed up, and a pungent smell filled the air.
Lance immediately held his breath, ready for battle.
A wisp of smoke quietly entered Gu Gu's nostril.
"Cough cough... Ugh..."
Gu Gu coughed a few times, then burst into tears because he couldn't stand the smell.
Lance's heart tightened; he wanted to step forward to comfort him, but he also had to be wary of the enemy's attack.
He could only use the Force to lift the smoke bomb and quickly throw it out of the spaceship.
In that instant, several blurry figures burst through the smoke.
A vibrating dagger gleaming with yellow energy blades thrust straight at you.
On the other side, a heavy fist slammed into his head.
Lance steadied himself and calmly dealt with the situation.
With Force perception, the enemy's attack trajectory was crystal clear.
He dodged the punch to the side, activating his lightsaber at the same time.
The blue light blade suddenly lit up.
hum.
He swung his sword and severed the dagger.
The hunter's expression changed drastically, and a cry of alarm escaped his lips:
"Jedi!"
Seeing the lightsaber close behind, on the verge of death, his potential erupted, and he suddenly retreated.
The lightsaber grazed his cheek.
Immediately afterward, the sword's momentum didn't stop; it turned towards the Destroyer King beside him.
In the nick of time, the hunter suddenly kicked him in the back of the knee.
Wreck-It Ralph swerved, narrowly avoiding the lightsaber's attack.
"Wait, everyone stop!"
The hunter quickly shouted to stop them and at the same time pulled several teammates to retreat.
Lance drew his sword and stepped forward, intending to give chase, but saw that they had already retreated outside the spaceship.
The hunter hurriedly spoke:
"Wait, I think this is a misunderstanding."
After saying that, he immediately unloaded his weapon and threw it on the ground.
He then gestured for his companion to do the same.
After a brief hesitation, the three men also put down their weapons.
"Jedi, we mean no harm."
The hunter's expression was solemn, and his tone was sincere:
"We have long since defected from the Empire and no longer serve it."
"Please believe me, everything I say is true."
Lance paused in his tracks.
In his Force perception, the other party was not lying.
He hesitated for a moment, his gaze sweeping back and forth between the group, but he never sheathed his sword.
He looked up at the small mound in the distance, then swept his gaze across the farmland, before his eyes fell once more on the four people:
"Ha, you think I'd believe that?"
