Chapter 89 August Reveals His Identity
Chapter 89 August Reveals His Identity
Regardless of Orochimaru and Kabuto's reactions, August has made his decision after a conversation with Kabuto.
He decided to do something he had always wanted to do, but had never known how to bring it up, so he had been putting it off.
That is, to tell Jelf and Mavis who you are!
Passing through the deep, dimly lit corridor, a door with soft, bright light emanating from its edges appeared before Auguste's eyes.
Augustus's steps gradually came to a stop. He looked at the door in front of him, whose edges were faintly lit, as if he were looking at his own long-cherished wish and faith.
In the darkness, August's tall figure gradually shrank until he finally transformed back into his childhood form.
The young child walked to the door, knocked gently, then reached out and grasped the doorknob, pushing the door open.
When the door was pushed open, Mebius's figure came into view.
Mavis, sitting on the sofa, looked up at August, who had transformed back into his younger self. A look of surprise flashed in her eyes before she smiled slightly at August.
"Ojaster".
Mavis chuckled, then tilted her head, asking with some confusion, "What happened? Why have you transformed back into your childhood self?"
Looking at Mebius's gentle face and her warm smile without a trace of gloom, August felt as if his heart had been split into two selves.
One self is so excited it wants to shout, while the other self is completely calm, as if it has cast all thoughts to the back of its mind.
Looking at Augustus, who was staring at her quietly with his round eyes, Mavis's heart softened slightly.
For some reason, every time she saw Auguste's young appearance, she always felt a strange sense of warmth and familiarity.
Seeing that Augustus was just staring at her without saying a word, Mavis smiled and said, "Are you here to see Jelf? He had to leave for a while..."
Auguste slowly walked up to Mavis and looked at her with an incredibly tender gaze that was no longer concealed.
Mebius was momentarily stunned by such a deeply emotional gaze.
"At this age, with this appearance, I met Your Majesty, so now I also want to face you with this appearance."
Meeting Mebius's increasingly puzzled gaze, Auguste smiled gently, pouring out all the long-held affection and longing he had felt.
Putting aside all her anxieties and desire to escape, Auguste said softly, "I've always wanted to see you, and I've always missed you, Mom."
"Boom-"
It sounded like something had fallen.
August turned around and saw Jelf standing outside the door, looking dazed.
At his feet was a thick book, which was undoubtedly the source of the sound that had just fallen.
In other words, Jelf also heard August's words.
Seeing this unprecedented blank expression on Jelf's usually calm face, August suddenly felt a mischievous urge creep into his heart.
He gave Jelf a sly smile and said, "I've never had a chance to say thank you for finding me back then. Even though you didn't recognize me, you still gave me a name that represents the bond between you and my mother."
“August, the August in which you met, I’ve always loved that name, Dad.”
"Snap—"
Another voice came.
August turned his head and saw Mavis accidentally knocking over a water glass on the table.
August smiled helplessly. Honestly, when these two are being silly, they really do seem like a pair…
Seeing Mavis's wide eyes and the somewhat bewildered, even panicked expression on her face, Auguste's heart softened.
Unable to suppress his emotions and desires any longer, August reached out his slender arms and embraced Mavis's waist.
This action made Mavis's expression even more helpless, and she subconsciously reached out to hug the small body in her arms.
Feeling the gentle pressure on his back, Auguste smiled contentedly.
With his face pressed against Mavis's soft clothes, feeling his mother's embrace, August, whose long-cherished wish had finally been fulfilled, felt that even if he were to die right now, he would have no regrets.
"Mom, even if it's just this once, being able to be held in your arms is enough for me to be happy."
Hearing August's words and feeling the gentle embrace around her waist, Mavis finally snapped out of her chaotic thoughts.
There was no time, nor a clear enough mind, to consider the truth or falsehood of August's words, but intuition and emotion had already given Mavis the answer.
Tears welled up uncontrollably, and Mavis tightened her grip on August's body, murmuring, "August..."
