Chapter 138 Giving Out a "Good Person Card"
Chapter 138 Giving Out a "Good Person Card"
Seeing her relaxed demeanor, Deidara couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you going to consider which question to answer?"
“No need, my other two teammates will definitely choose the 50-point question,” Uchiha Ye said without hesitation.
"Why...why?" Deidara was increasingly puzzled.
"First, choose questions to answer based on your teammates' understanding of you."
"Secondly, we can pass on messages to them."
Uchiha Yo gave a brief explanation.
Deidara's team for the Chunin Exams was a temporary one, so he can be ruled out based on the first criterion.
That leaves the second item, 'passing messages'.
"But how do we convey this message?" Deidara pondered.
Uchiha Ye glanced at him and coughed lightly. "Could you give me some more clay? I can help you deliver messages."
"Do you really enjoy playing with clay?" Deidara stared intently at her.
She nodded. "I like it now."
Deidara, looking at her with an air of "you're very perceptive," took a large lump of clay from his ninja tool bag and placed it in front of her.
"Thank you, you're so kind." Uchiha Ye said softly, leaving Deidara completely bewildered.
"Deidara is so innocent." She smiled, her eyes crinkling, and after a while, she continued, "Deidara, you gave me so much Nendoroid, do you need any help?"
Deidara snapped out of his reverie at her smile and shook his head. "No need, I already have an idea."
"Okay, I understand," she replied, her attention now focused on the lump of clay.
After more than ten minutes, the examination room was much quieter than it had been at the beginning, and everyone had their own ideas.
Uchiha Ye also felt that the time was about right, so he raised two fingers to sense the classroom where Itachi and Yamato were.
Suddenly, the temperature in the examination rooms where Itachi and Yamato were waiting gradually rose, and flames slowly appeared in the air above the two examination rooms, forming three large characters: "I will not answer".
It paused for three seconds before slowly dissipating into the air.
"Now it should be safe."
After finishing his task, Uchiha Ye picked up the remaining clay on the table to pass the time.
"You're quite artistic," Deidara said, glancing at the object she had sculpted on her desk after answering the question.
"It's alright!" Uchiha Ye smiled modestly. She was quite surprised to find that the character panel had an additional 'Clay Technique' in the Ninjutsu category. It was a pleasant surprise.
"Have you finished answering?" Her gaze shifted curiously to Deidara's test paper.
"Yes, thanks to your earlier reminder."
Otherwise, if he were eliminated in the first round, he would definitely be laughed to death by that old geezer Onoki.
"It's only right to take care of your younger brother, don't be shy. You even made clay for me, didn't you?" Uchiha Ye blinked and spoke gently.
"Younger brother?" Deidara felt a pang of sadness upon hearing those two words.
Just then, the examiner's voice came through the television again.
"Time's up!"
"Everyone, put your exam papers face down on the table!"
After a brief pause, the voice resumed, "The following is the second question of the first round of written tests."
Upon hearing this, the crowd erupted in uproar.
The examiner continued, "Question: The team's whereabouts were exposed during the mission. In order to shake off the pursuers, one person had to be left behind as bait. So, who should be left behind as bait? Setting up a bait would be certain death."
"Write your answers on the back of the exam paper. Teams with three identical answers will pass. Only the candidate chosen as bait and whose name is left behind will be considered dead and disqualified."
Please complete your answer within five minutes.
Uchiha Ye didn't expect that the questions she had asked Yamato and Itachi before would actually be used as test questions. The examiner for the first round of written tests was Nara Shikaku, which she thought made sense.
Yamato and Itachi were genuinely surprised by the question. "Ye really guessed right."
"Why are you still sculpting clay? Aren't you thinking about which teammate's name to write?" Deidara asked, his face full of worry, seeing Uchiha Ye like this.
Uchiha Ye paused, then leaned close to Deidara's ear and said, "The examiner said that if all three of you have the same answer, you pass. Why don't all three of you hand in blank papers and get the same answer? You don't have to sacrifice your teammates."
Being so close, Deidara's face flushed slightly, but thankfully it only lasted a moment. Uchiha Ye sat up straight and continued busying himself with sculpting clay, not noticing this.
Upon receiving the signal, Deidara quickly relayed the message to his two teammates.
Five minutes passed quickly, and the tightly closed doors of the examination hall were suddenly opened. A warrior from the Land of Iron walked in and said, "Now we will collect the exam papers. You will all remain in the classroom until the scoring is finished. Those who pass will be called downstairs to the open space via broadcast."
Uchiha Ye then stopped what he was doing, put away the remaining clay, and stood up and walked down to the open space when he heard her name.
Deidara had already left before her, and before leaving, he gave her a lump of clay.
Upon reaching the open space, Uchiha Ye spotted them from afar and jogged over to them.
"This is for you."
She took out two small animals made of clay from behind her.
"Ye, when did you learn this?" Itachi asked, taking the item with a puzzled look.
"Hehehe... I saw a clay master sitting next to the exam hall just now, so I learned a trick to pass the time." She explained briefly to Itachi.
"boom..."
A figure leaped down from the sky, "Yo... I'm your second round examiner... Killer Bee... Oh yeah!"
"The second round of exams will be held in the 'Snowy Wilderness' of the Land of Iron... Yay!"
"All candidates, please proceed to the surveillance post in the 'Snowy Wilderness'... Oh yeah!"
Kirabi gesticulated wildly and started rapping in a broken voice, which made people's scalps tingle.
"The Eight-Tails Jinchuriki is actually here as an examiner?" Uchiha Ye's face was filled with disbelief.
After many unbelievable things happened, she quickly regained her normal expression.
However, this time, surprisingly, those teams that selected their teammates were not eliminated.
She looked around and found that only about 200 people remained out of the original 400 or 500, which made sense.
If they keep eliminating people, there will probably only be a few dozen left in the second round.
It seems that not a single ninja has emerged to guide us this time; there are truly very few qualified candidates.
The second round of judges, Chirabi, continued his rap, "Yo... attention all candidates..."
"The map only shows up for ten seconds... Oh yeah!"
"Three days only, teams that don't arrive within the allotted time will be eliminated... Oh yeah!"
After Chirabi finished his rap, a television set displaying a map was placed in the open space.
Ten seconds later, the picture flickered and the TV screen went dark again.
When Uchiha Yoh heard the rules, she took out paper and pen, glanced at the map, and began to draw.
Five minutes later, she finished drawing the map and handed it to Itachi. "Let's go!"
Itachi wasn't surprised at all; he already knew that Ye had a photographic memory. Yamato, on the other hand, was completely bewildered.
“It would take at least a day and a night for a ninja to get from here to the ‘Snowy Wilderness.’ We have a map, so we can take our time and there’s no need to rush.” Itachi briefly explained the situation and made a decision.
This decision was clearly made by Itachi based on Yoru's personality; he would probably like to slowly walk over and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Just as Itachi had predicted, Yoh did not miss out on eating, drinking, or having fun for the next three days.
Every night, Itachi would use genjutsu to have intimate contact with Yamato, while Yamato would fall into a deep sleep within his genjutsu, completely unaware of what was happening when he woke up the next day.
"How strange, it's snowing heavily, why do I keep getting bitten by mosquitoes? Where are they coming from?"
Uchiha Ye was completely baffled. With a puzzled look in her eyes, she applied the ointment and quickly forgot about it in a corner. "Perhaps the mosquitoes were just jealous of her beauty!"
At these times, Itachi would stand by looking guilty, not daring to meet Ye's gaze.
