Chapter 86 Arrival in Asgard
Chapter 86 Arrival in Asgard
Asgard, Rainbow Bridge.
Heimdall stood at the bridgehead. As the gatekeeper of Asgard, he hadn't encountered any outsiders entering Asgard for a long time. At that moment, a seven-colored light shone in the distance.
Heimdall stared into the distance and saw Thor with a strange man and woman, Thor and the woman following behind the man.
Heimdall focused his divine power on his eyes, trying to see through the man, but when he looked over, he saw only darkness.
Heimdall felt cold sweat beading on his forehead. He had guarded this place for thousands of years and had never seen anything like it. Who exactly was that man?
The light of the Rainbow Bridge slowly faded, and Shendu stepped onto the golden floor of Asgard, looking at this place that only existed in legends in the Marvel universe.
The magnificent palace gleamed in the sunlight, and waterfalls cascaded down its sides. The architectural style here was completely different from anything on Earth, and everything here exuded an ancient and solemn atmosphere.
"How is it?"
Thor opened his arms to the sky, his voice tinged with pride: "Welcome to Asgard."
The Holy Lord did not answer. His eyes swept across the distant buildings and finally settled on the tallest one. There he sensed a familiar aura, a talisman, and more than one.
"Heimdall".
Thor patted Heimdall on the shoulder, who was standing there: "I have brought guests, these two allies from Earth, who will provide important assistance in the war against the Dark Elves."
Heimdall stared at the hammer in Thor's hand, his pupils contracting again. The artifact fragments Odin had given Thor were resonating, not with Thor, but with the man he couldn't see through.
Heimdall gave a brief response to Thor before turning his attention back to Wanda.
This time he saw it: chaotic, disordered power surging within the woman, intertwined with various dark forces—a power Heimdall had never seen before.
"This is Wanda," Thor joked, noticing Heimdall's gaze. "Don't even think about doing anything to her; she's already taken."
Wanda raised her eyes and met Heimdall's gaze. In that instant, the gatekeeper felt as if he were being watched by a venomous snake.
Thor stepped forward, blocking Heimdall's view: "Heimdall, I know what you're looking at, but these two are our allies, and the Allfather wants to see them."
Heimdall paused for a moment, then his gaze returned to the Holy Lord: "I can't see him clearly, Thor, the person you brought..."
Heimdall was interrupted by Thor before he could finish speaking: "I know your abilities, but I trust him. Please trust my judgment."
Heimdall stared into Thor's eyes. He didn't know the two Holy Lords, but he knew Thor. This heir of Asgard was brave, but he never easily trusted others.
Heimdall wanted to continue reminding Thor: "Thor, the artifact fragments..."
Thor interrupted him again: "This is the power my father gave me, and its power is with me."
Heimdall was about to say something when the Holy Lord spoke up: "Gatekeeper."
Heimdall looked at the Holy Lord, whose golden vertical pupils gave him an immense sense of oppression: "Your loyalty is commendable, but you don't need to worry about me. I'm here only to retrieve what's mine, and I have no intention of being an enemy of Asgard."
Heimdall gripped the hilt of his sword: "Nothing in Asgard belongs to you."
The Holy Lord's lips curled slightly: "Are you sure?"
An invisible force emanated from the Holy Lord, and Heimdall felt his heart skip a beat before returning to normal in an instant.
Heimdall stared wide-eyed, panting heavily. The Bult steel sword was already partially drawn from its sheath, and the Holy Lord had already left, heading towards the Golden Palace.
Thor patted Heimdall on the shoulder: "Heimdall, believe me, he is the key to our fight against the impending darkness. I will explain everything to my father."
Heimdall watched Thor's retreating figure, then glanced at Wanda, who was walking at the very back.
Wanda paused as she walked past him: "What you just felt is not even the tip of the iceberg of the master's power. You should be glad that you are not qualified to be the master's enemy."
After Wanda finished speaking, she followed the Lord's footsteps, leaving Heimdall alone at the head of the Rainbow Bridge.
The Rainbow Bridge connects Asgard's main city, with golden roads stretching out beneath your feet and torrents of energy flowing like waterfalls on either side.
Asgard, the abode of the gods, the center of the nine realms, is now, in the eyes of the Holy Lord, nothing more than a ship about to sink.
"Master, you seem to be in a good mood," Wanda's voice came from behind Shendu.
"The scenery of Asgard is worth seeing," the Lord replied casually.
Wanda shook her head: "It doesn't seem to be the scenery here that's making the master feel better."
The Holy Lord smiled but didn't say anything more.
Thor walked in front: "That's the Golden Palace."
Thor pointed to a magnificent building in the distance, his tone filled with undisguised pride: "Father is waiting for us there. Although you are guests, you must still show respect before the Father of Gods."
Shendu didn't speak. Wanda's gaze swept over Thor and then shifted back to Shendu. Her lips moved, but she didn't say anything.
The three of them soon arrived at the square in front of the Golden Palace.
The square was lined with Asgardian guards, dressed in golden armor and holding spears. As Thor passed by, the guards bowed to him in unison, but their eyes all fell on the Holy Lord.
This unfamiliar man exuded an unsettling aura, not one of hostility, but rather an aura of authority that even Odin had never displayed.
"Prince Thor," the captain of the guard said, barely managing to keep his voice steady, "the Allfather has been waiting on the throne for a long time."
Thor nodded and strode toward the door. "Yeah, I know."
The moment the three stepped into the Golden Palace, an ancient and solemn aura washed over them. The interior of the hall was even more magnificent than it appeared from the outside. The dome was painted with murals depicting the history of Asgard, and the pillars on both sides were carved with ancient Asgardian runes.
Odin, clad in golden armor and wielding the spear Gungnir, sat on the throne at the very top. The Lord sensed that Odin's gaze had been fixed on him the instant he stepped into the golden palace.
The tip of the Spear of Eternity glowed faintly, and Odin's voice echoed through the hall: "Thor, you have brought guests back."
Thor knelt on one knee and said respectfully, "Father, these two are allies I have found on Earth, Lord and Wanda. They have proven their worth in the battles on Earth, and I believe they can be of help in the war against the Dark Elves."
Odin did not respond immediately; his gaze kept sweeping between the Holy Lord and Wanda.
