Chapter 77 Obtaining the Space Gem
"Sir, there are outsiders," Jarvis reminded Tony, who was studying the Space Cube. "According to the message from Stephen, they are outsiders from another timeline."
"Outsiders?" Tony put down the Rubik's Cube and raised an eyebrow. "Trying to attack me? How presumptuous. Ever since I received divine grace, my armor has been constantly evolving. It's a good opportunity to test my skills against them."
"Jarvis, let's greet these outsiders." Tony placed the Rubik's Cube in the original location of the Arc Reactor and shut down all of Stark Tower's defense systems.
Saint Lord led Wanda into Stark Tower without any obstacles. Thor did not follow; he wanted to catch up with Fury from this timeline.
On the top floor of Stark Tower, Tony lay leisurely on the sofa, just like in the main world, with two glasses of whiskey on the table in front of him.
"Mr. Stark seems quite relaxed?" The Lord didn't stand on ceremony and picked up the whiskey on the table, downing it in one gulp.
Tony squinted at Shendu: "Hmm? So trusting? Aren't you afraid I'll poison you?"
The Holy Lord laughed and said, "Mr. Stark's pride would make it impossible for him to do such a thing."
"It seems you know me very well."
Tony stood up, zipped up his jacket, and the armor seemed to grow out of his body as if it were alive.
The Holy Lord narrowed his eyes: "Nano armor, you shouldn't possess it at this stage."
Tony's voice came from inside the armor: "It seems you know a lot about my future, but right now, your universe's Tony is no match for me."
The ceiling of Stark Industries' top floor opened, and Tony flew onto the stage. Shendu saw that where the Arc Reactor was on Tony's chest, a Rubik's Cube had been replaced.
"The Tesseract, so the Space Stone is indeed in your hands." Shendu's tone was now calm and composed: "Perhaps in other universes your form could pose some threat to me, but here, unfortunately, you cannot win."
"Jarvis, start the analysis," Tony ordered Jarvis.
"Sir, we have detected that the opponent's life level is extremely high. We do not recommend making an enemy of him." Jarvis's voice rang out from inside the armor's visor. "He has the aura of divine power on him, or rather, divine power carries his aura."
Tony frowned. If what Jarvis said was true, then the man in front of him was indeed invincible in this universe, with unlimited energy and extreme speed.
Tony raised his hand, and two laser emitters appeared behind his armor, emitting powerful laser beams that shot straight toward the Holy Lord.
Shendu did not move. A chaotic magical barrier formed by Wanda appeared in front of him, and Tony's laser could not penetrate it even a little bit.
Tony increased his energy, and the rabbit's mark appeared behind him before his figure quickly disappeared.
"Hmm? You can now use both types of talismans, that's interesting," the Holy Lord commented. "So, how will you use them now?"
The Lord struck the ground, and just like in the main universe at that time, the entire Stark Tower began to move. The difference was that Stark Tower suddenly disintegrated, and the structure of the building reorganized in the air to form a cage that enveloped the area.
"Interesting," Tony's voice came from all around, "but this can't control me."
The light of the Space Stone emanated from the chest of the armor, and numerous cracks appeared in the surrounding cage. However, the cage seemed to possess its own life, closing up as soon as the cracks appeared.
The cage was shrinking, and the cracks were closing faster and faster.
Tony's figure stopped moving and appeared in the air. He was not yet proficient in using the Space Stone and could not use the power of teleportation.
"Not going to be a rat anymore?" Shendu laughed. "It seems Mr. Stark has been driven into a corner."
As the Holy Lord raised his hand, his aura instantly filled the small space. Tony felt a suffocating sensation rising from the bottom of his heart, and his armor was disintegrating.
"Jarvis, what's going on!" Tony's voice betrayed a hint of panic.
"Sir, the power source for your modified armor is divine power, but now that divine power has been forcibly blocked by the enemy using some unknown method. The armor is currently in a state of having no energy and can only disintegrate." Jarvis's analysis made Tony's heart sink.
Having lost his armor, Tony fell from the sky. Shendu calmly walked up to Tony. With the life force of the Horse Talisman blocked by Shendu, Tony, now without the Arc Reactor, lay helplessly on the ground, his face pale, about to suffocate.
"Mr. Stark, you seem to be in a bad state." Shendu kicked Tony on the ground: "Your divine power has made you abandon the Arc Reactor, throwing away the life-saving energy source in order to use the Tesseract."
The Holy Lord scoffed, "His intelligence is still not as high as that of the main universe."
Shendu used magic to pull Tony up from the ground. Tony's hands were on Shendu's wrists, but he had no strength and could only struggle weakly.
Shendu raised his hand and pressed it against Tony's chest. The device on Tony's chest opened automatically, and the Space Cube fell into Shendu's hand.
The Holy Lord placed the Rubik's Cube in his palm and used the Mind Stone to pull the Space Stone out of the Rubik's Cube.
Looking at the sparkling gem in his finger, the Holy Lord's lips curled up. He did not sense the observer's presence nearby, which meant that the other party did not care about this corrupted timeline at all.
The Holy Lord crushed the gem, and the gem turned into specks of light that flew into the Holy Lord's body. The gem had already been marked with a talisman, so the Holy Lord absorbed it very smoothly, without even needing to set up the most basic absorption array.
Tony was having trouble even breathing and had no energy left to watch the Holy Lord's actions.
Wanda used chaos magic to lift Tony up and make him kneel before Shendu: "You..."
Tony was gasping for breath and unable to continue speaking.
"Don't worry, I won't let you die. As my pawn, it's not time for your end yet."
Shendu unlocked Tony's perception of the talisman, and the power of the horse talisman re-entered Tony's body.
Tony took a deep breath and came back to life. He tried to get up, but found himself kneeling before the Holy Lord, unable to move.
"Those who use my power must be prepared to become my slaves." Shendu pressed down on Tony's head, and the aura of the Lord of Talismans surged into Tony's body. Tony's eyes gradually lost focus, and then he slowly spoke, "Master."
"Hmm, very good." The Holy Lord was satisfied and restored Stark Industries to its original state: "From now on, follow me; I'll need you later."
"Yes," Tony said, head bowed, devoid of any emotion. "I am willing to go through fire and water for my master."
Next, we need to find Mordo. Judging by the time, the power of the Mind Stone within him should have disappeared by now. Mordo, controlled by dark magic, will definitely go berserk, and there are still talismans in this world.
The Holy Lord smiled and didn't think about it any further. In this timeline, no one could stop him.
