Chapter 87 Doubt

At the top level of S.H.I.E.L.D., Deputy Director Agent Hill is speaking with General Ross of the military.

However, General Ross himself did not come here; his holographic projection stood in front of Agent Hill, roaring loudly.

"I said from the beginning that the Hulk monster should be arrested, but Nick Fury insisted on including him in your role-playing. And now? Tell me how to resolve this!"

“General Ross, please calm down. I believe the Avengers would never do such a thing. I think there must be some misunderstanding,” Agent Hill, Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., explained to General Ross.

"Hmph! Misunderstanding! The whole world has seen how terrifying the Hulk is, and how irresponsible that playboy is! What you superheroes have done is even worse than the supervillains."

“General Ross, it’s not good to talk behind someone’s back,” Tony Stark said as he walked in.

"Bad things? Look at the news, Tony Stark! Is there anyone who can say anything good about you these days?"

The whole world is now criticizing the Avengers, criticizing Iron Man Tony Stark, Hulk, and Ant-Man Hank.

The scene of Iron Man Tony Stark standing by and not helping someone in distress has spread throughout the world.

“That wasn’t General Tony Ross. At the time, S.H.I.E.L.D. detected an alien spaceship landing on a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean, and the entire Avengers went there to investigate.”

Deputy Director Agent Hill explained to General Ross.

"Then how do you explain those three superheroes who appeared on the streets of Manhattan, New York? You told the military that the Iron Man armor was yours, so who else could wear the exact same armor as you?"

"Are there two Hulks in the world?" General Ross asked Tony Tucker and Agent Hill.

“Someone copied me and stole an Iron Man suit from my home,” Tony Stark said.

"Haha, that's ridiculous. Could anyone actually steal Iron Man's armor from the home of a genius like Tony Stark?"

A sarcastic remark came from the doorway, and Harry Osborn walked in.

"Should I call the police for you, Tony?" Harry asked, taking out his phone and feigning concern.

“Harry Osborn!” Tony quickly walked up to Harry.

“I know, you did it! You did all of this!” Tony Stark said through gritted teeth, glaring at Harry.

This incident dealt a heavy blow to Stark Industries and the Avengers.

The only one who benefited from this was Harry Osborn.

It's not hard to suspect who's behind this.

"You can't just say things like that, Tony, Tony." Harry ignored Tony's fierce glare.

He walked over to Deputy Director Agent Hill and sat down in a chair.

Harry took out his phone and pretended to operate it a few times. In reality, he was using Ark-Zero's power to create a holographic projection in the office showing Iron Man Tony Stark battling the Hulk in Manhattan, complete with the armor mask opening and revealing a face exactly like Tony Stark's.

"And how do you explain that?" Harry smiled, looking at Tony Stark's expression of hating him to the core yet being unable to harm him. He felt that his [Ark] had evolved another step.

The malice level has surged.

"This isn't me!" Tony Stark, using Friday the Hour as his network controller, took over the area and shut down the holographic projection video.

“General Ross, Deputy Director Hill, I request that a full-scale arrest warrant be issued for Hulk, Tony Stark, and Hank the Ant-Man,” Harry said righteously to General Ross and Agent Hill.

"If necessary, I can take action myself."

"You!" Tony Stark, Iron Man, was startled by Harry's words.

He wasn't wearing the Iron Man armor right now, although there was a spare briefcase armor in the car, but he didn't have time to put it on.

Now that Harry is equipped with nanometal armor, he can't stop him if he wants to attack.

“No! I will not grant your request. Even if Chief Nick Fury were here, he wouldn’t agree to it,” Deputy Chief Hill said urgently, standing up immediately.

"Where is Nick Fury now? As the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., why isn't he showing up after such a big incident? Is he hiding somewhere repairing his dilapidated secret base?"

“Enough, Harry. Tony Stark and Dr. Hank Pym are extremely important assets to America, and the higher-ups won't allow you to interfere,” General Ross stopped Harry.

“However, the Hulk is the source of this incident. I allow you to hunt down the Hulk, but you must hand him over to me in the end.” General Ross was extremely obsessed with the Hulk; he wanted to obtain the Hulk's power no matter what.

“No, it’s not his fault. Dr. Bruce Banner was with us when it happened. He didn’t have time to go to Manhattan, New York.”

Tony Tucker shook his head and explained to the three of them.

“How do you know that the person with you is definitely Bruce Banner himself? Does he transform into the Hulk?” Harry asked Tony Stark.

“This…” Tony Stark was about to defend Bruce Banner, but he suddenly remembered that he hadn’t actually seen Bruce Banner transform into the Hulk, because there hadn’t been any battle on the deserted island in the Pacific.

They went there and found no one on the spaceship. Then they received news of a battle taking place on the streets of Manhattan, New York, so they rushed over.

“Am I right, Tony? How can you prove that everyone in the Avengers is the real person?” Harry continued to ask.

Tony Stark was immediately plunged into self-doubt, even though he never believed Harry Osborn's words.

With his intelligence, he could see that this was all Harry Osborn's conspiracy.

But doubt is like a flood; once the floodgates are opened, it cannot be stopped.

The Avengers had only been formed for a few days, and the members hadn't spent much time together. They didn't know each other well enough, so how could they trust each other?

“Tony Stark, you should think about it some more. If you need help, just let me know, and I’ll be happy to take care of this for you,” Harry said, feigning sincerity.

Tony quickly left the scene; he dared not listen to Harry Osborn any longer, and a seed of doubt had now been planted in his heart.

After Tony Stark left, Harry proposed a bill to General Ross, hoping that General Ross could discuss it with the higher-ups on his behalf.
