Chapter 724 So the villain was me?

Ultimately, Strange was persuaded by Peter to call Iliana over to discuss the matter. He eventually agreed with Spider-Man's point of view: Magik might have objective problems, but subjectively he was unlikely to be an enemy.

So when Iliana arrived at the reception room, she heard the two of them gossiping about her.

"Could it be that Velasco found an evil version of Iliana from some multiverse, trained her to be his henchman, and then carried out this operation?"

"Use your brain, Spider-Man. Magik from other universes can only travel to and from her own universe if she has never been to ours. How could she come to our universe?"

Iliana leaned against the door, carrying her greatsword, and listened silently as the two people sitting on the sofa by the fireplace, drinking coffee, continued their conversation.

"Do you think it's possible that Iliana's demon form evolved into her own independent personality or something?"

"That's possible. After all, after half of her soul was torn apart by Velasco, she grew up in the Hell's Edge for several years. The void in her soul has been filled by the energy of the Hell's Edge. This is why she has unlimited potential in dark magic and can easily control the dimension of the Hell's Edge. Half of her soul is herself, and the other half is part of the Hell's Edge itself."

Strange spoke eloquently to Peter: "As for the other half of this girl's soul? She has already turned that bloodstone into her own weapon."

"I'm glad you two helped me recall my miserable childhood. Is that your reason for calling me here?" Iliana spoke, leaning against the doorway. Strange and Peter turned sharply to look at her. In the awkward atmosphere, she continued, "Or is it that Mephisto's matter is no longer important, and you can just chat idly now?"

"Actually, we were just talking about serious business."

Strange snapped his fingers, conjuring a small sofa between himself and Peter for Iliana: "Do you know that Ghost Rider and Elsa captured a man possessed by a demon? His original soul is missing, and his body has been replaced by a demon."

"I know, I saw the news, and I'm glad you've made progress. So, what do you need me to do?"

Iliana sat down and accepted the coffee that Strange had summoned, sweetened and milked to suit American tastes. Then she heard Strange's next words and almost spat out her coffee: "These demons don't come from Mephisto's dimension 'Hell,' but from the frontier of Hell."

"are you sure?"

Iliana stared at the two in disbelief, then received a definitive answer. She finally understood why they had been discussing her earlier. Looking at them with utter disbelief, she asked, "Could it be... that I really have a split personality?"

"Nothing is conclusive yet, but what we do know is that these demons have come to Earth from the borders of Hell without you noticing."

As Strange spoke, he exclaimed, "Now one of our biggest questions is answered: how will Mephisto carry out his plan when he can't bring in enough demons? The answer is: borrow people, borrow people from the frontier of Hell."

Peter then looked at Iliana: "If you saw that devil, could you recognize who it is?"

Iliana looked troubled: "It's unlikely... I rarely go to the border of hell except for the occasional time when I practice magic, it's not a good place."

Strange immediately perked up.

"That might be the problem. Although your memories and emotions are fine, half of your soul ultimately doesn't belong to Earth, but to the border of Hell. If you leave the border of Hell for a long time, your soul itself will not become stable—of course, it's the same if you stay in the border of Hell forever. You need to balance your existence in both places."

Iliana frowned. From a magical point of view, Strange was undoubtedly right, but whoever wanted to live in that hellish place, Limbo, could live there. If only her other half of her soul could really split apart, she could stay on Earth and let her deal with Limbo.

Meanwhile, Peter was still offering advice on the devil's problem: "Do you think if Iliana transforms into a demon and goes to that devil, we could actually get some information out of him?"

"I don't think it'll work. Since the other side is a devil, they should be able to figure out the situation. Besides, this is just our guess. Maybe Mephisto has a way to bypass Magik." Strange paused for a moment. "But no matter what, if Mephisto wants to tamper with our world through Limbo, there's one person he can't bypass."

Velasco.

Although Velasco himself is a rather disgraceful dimensional daemons, and has been expelled from the Hell's Edge, no longer able to access its boundless dimensional energy, and can only be considered a dark mage, as the former master of the Hell's Edge, he can still provide Mephisto with a wealth of intelligence.

Velasco was able to provide Mephisto with information on which demons in Limbo were powerful, talented, and possessed special abilities. In a sense, Velasco became the intermediary between the demons native to Limbo and Mephisto.

As for what Velasco wants? Well, it's to return to Limbo and reign supreme, that's the first step, and the second part will continue his plan…

"Speaking of which, Miss Elsa's surname is Bloodstone. Isn't she related to Bloodstone? I remember that Velasco only needs one Bloodstone to realize his plan."

Peter looked at Strange after remembering this, and Strange shrugged indifferently: "Not quite. Elsa's power does come from a gem, and it is indeed related to her surname. Her father passed down to her a fragment of an alien meteorite called the Bloodgem. It's similar, but not the same thing. One is an alien artifact, and the other is a creation of the soul."

Peter felt a little uncomfortable after hearing this. If your source of power and family name come from "Bloodgem", then why are you called "Bloodstone"?

"But this is a very good suggestion. Perhaps we can use this to mislead Velasco into thinking that the Bloodstone he possesses is the kind of Bloodstone he needs." Strange laughed. "Then, we can capture this dimensional daemon who has lost his own dimension."
