Chapter 139 The Argument Ends
Chapter 139 The Argument Ends
Evelyn walked through campus carrying a pair of megaphones, searching for a good spot to ensure she could hear the sound from any corner. Hearing Emeric's whining voice from afar, she shuddered and hid.
"Severus, don't walk so fast. Ouch... your cloak hit my leg, it hurts!"
"snort."
Emeric obediently accepted the beating; after all, he had sneaked a kiss on Severus when he wasn't looking, and bad deeds deserve a beating. But if given another chance, he would definitely kiss him again.
After leaving the Forbidden Forest, Emeric transformed into a kitten, crawled into Severus's pocket, curled himself into a ball of fur, and hugged the large hand that was stroking him.
He rubbed his furry belly against Severus's hand and licked it every now and then. It's normal for him to like licking people now that he's a little animal, Emerick said matter-of-factly.
Severus felt itchy, his hands were covered in soft barbs that tingled, and there was a sticky feeling from the saliva. He pinched the cat's mouth with two fingers to stop Emeric from causing trouble, and pressed the heel of his palm against the cat's belly to enjoy the feel of the cat's fur.
He walked to the headmaster's office with the cat in his pocket, wondering if Emeric might get angry and tear the office down. Severus was gloating; he was happy to see Dumbledore get his comeuppance, and was even willing to give up his own pocket.
"What is it now?"
"Don't be nervous, Severus. Gale told me that Ari destroyed another Horcrux. I just wanted to ask you to confirm it. You know I haven't seen him in a long time, and I couldn't even send him an apology gift." Dumbledore sighed. This was the first time he had been ignored by a child like this.
"Another one destroyed? What else?" Severus didn't want to hear any more nonsense. After answering Dumbledore's question, he quietly looked at him without saying anything more. He wanted to know what else he could hear.
"Uh, are you bringing him to see me?"
"cannot."
"Then I'm all right."
Upon hearing this, Severus turned and left. He had no time to concern himself with the mental health issues of the elderly, and Dumbledore could go find his old lover.
"Hey hey!"
"Bang." The door shook.
"Why is your temper getting worse and worse?" Dumbledore muttered, angrily tearing off two strands of his beard. In the past, even if Severus was impatient, he would still listen to him finish speaking, but now he would just slam the door and leave.
"Al, your temper is getting worse and worse..." Gellert came down the stairs. He had been hiding there listening to Dumbledore and Severus's conversation and couldn't help but blurt out what was on his mind.
"Gail, what do you mean? Don't you want to live together anymore? Do you want to argue with me again?" Dumbledore stood up angrily, hands on his hips, glaring at Gaillet.
"I didn't, I swear!" Gellert strode over to Dumbledore's side. "We don't fight." The last time they fought, their blood pact shattered; if they fought again, his would be shattered.
Gellert took out a candy and stuffed it into Dumbledore's mouth, trying to shut him up and stop him from saying anything more. Dumbledore, with the candy in his mouth, barely calmed down, glared at Gellert, and sat back down.
"How does it taste? It's my first time making fruit candies, I don't know if it suits my taste." Gellert looked into the distance, his back to Dumbledore.
"You did this? When did you learn it?"
"I noticed you were in a bad mood these past few days, so I specially asked Ellie to teach me how to make these. He also taught me a lot of other kinds of candy. I'll make them for you when I have time." As he spoke, his face turned red. At his age, he was still indulging in this kind of youthful romance.
"Gail, please give this to Ellie for me and tell him that I know I was wrong and that I am very sorry." Dumbledore was silent for a moment, then took out a box and handed it to Gellert. Inside was a gift of apology, which he gave to Ellie regardless of whether Ellie accepted it or not.
When Gellert opened the box, he saw an earring brimming with life. Nothing could have been more suitable for Emeric, which is why he agreed to make the trip.

Severus nestled on the sofa, cuddling his cat. Applewood burned in the fireplace, filling the room with a subtle blend of fruity and woody scents. Emeric purred against his chest like a little engine. With one hand petting the cat and the other holding a book, Severus felt this was life.
When his eyes get tired from reading for a long time, he will eat the fruit and nuts on the small table next to him. These have been washed and the leaves and shells removed, so they can be eaten directly.
Noticing someone at the door, Severus waved his wand to hide everything, stuffed the cat into his pocket, sat behind his desk, grabbed a piece of parchment, and after completing his disguise, he opened the door to let the person in.
"Mr. Grindelwald? What can I do for you?"
"I wanted to ask where Ellie went; I have something for him." Gellert didn't stand on ceremony and directly took out the box Dumbledore had given him, explaining his purpose.
"Just leave it here, I'll give it to him," Severus said calmly. He and Dumbledore were the ones who retrieved the contents of the box.
"I can wait for him to come back, you go ahead with your work." Gellert rejected Severus's suggestion. He wanted to deliver it to Emerick himself, otherwise what if Dumbledore thought he wasn't doing his job properly?
Gellert walked to the sofa, sat down, took out a document, and began to work. He had brought a lot of work with him, having already anticipated that Severus would not allow them to meet because he felt sorry for Emeric.
The three of them fell silent in the room. It was Saturday, and Severus couldn't use the excuse of going to class. The two of them were competing with each other and spent the whole afternoon working. Only Emeric took a nap in Severus's pocket.
When he woke up again, it was almost dinnertime. He peeked out of his pocket and saw that Severus had already hidden in the potions workshop.
"Meow~" Has Gellert left?
"no."
Severus ruffled Emeric's hair, then casually picked up a comb and began grooming the cat by the neck. "When are you planning to go see him?"
"Meow." The cat didn't know.
"If you don't know, you don't know. Give me your hand." Severus put down the comb, picked up the small scissors next to him, and pinched Emeric's paw. The kitten's paw fur was a bit long and needed to be trimmed.
"Snip, snip." The room was quiet except for the sound of scissors. Emeric obediently spread out his paws and let Severus trim his fur.
"Let's go outside." Emeric transformed into a human and casually swept his long hair to one side.
The two walked out of the studio and saw Gellert asleep in the living room. Emeric sighed and said softly, "Severus, I'll go cook. Let Gellert eat with us." Yes, he softened. He hugged Severus and rubbed against him before heading to the kitchen.
A little while later, Emeric returned with a basket of things. He set it on the table, woke Gellert, and the three of them ate together.
"Ellie, this is for you." Gellert handed him a gift, making the day's wait worthwhile.
"Nothing to tell me?"
"I'm not involved in this. This is good for you. If you don't want to owe anyone a favor, return it to Al."
Tell him this is a one-time exception.
The two old men were quite old; if they hadn't apologized to him, it would have been a bit too much for them not to back down.
