Chapter 243 A Long Talk with Severus
Chapter 243 A Long Talk with Severus
When I arrived at the cellar entrance, I saw Fred and George just coming out of Severus's cellar.
"Hurry back to the lounge. This is your dinner. Go back, eat, and get some rest." I revealed myself and took out the food I always kept in my backpack, handing it to Fred.
"Ayers, we thought you'd forgotten we were being punished here. Professor Snape was really too hard on us." Fred said, holding the food and looking at me with teary eyes as I suddenly appeared in front of him.
“If I were you, I shouldn’t have spoken ill of Professor Snape here at the door. He would have heard it, and you’d be in for it next time,” I whispered in Fred’s ear.
Fred immediately covered his mouth with his hand.
"Thanks, Ayers. We're heading back now. See you tomorrow." George was much smarter; he didn't mention the punishment at all and immediately grabbed Fred's arm and ran off.
I smiled as I watched the two figures leave, then gently turned the doorknob, opened the door, and went inside.
"How much longer? How much longer do we need to work?" I brought out another meal and placed it on Severus's desk.
"Those two little giants are really too naughty. Go check if the materials they processed need to be processed a second time." Severus rubbed his forehead, his head aching terribly.
"Eat something first. Don't get angry and hurt yourself." I picked up the food and placed it in front of him.
I blocked all the little wizard homework that Severus was correcting with a tray.
"Let's tidy up those scrolls first," Severus said, frowning as he looked at the parchment scrolls he had just half-corrected.
“Severus, don’t take on everything yourself. You’re always asking me to help you grade your classmates’ homework, and you’re exhausting yourself every day. It makes me feel bad for you,” I said to Severus with a hint of lecturing.
"I can handle this all by myself," Severus said haughtily, clearly not wanting to ask anyone for help, including his lover.
“I believe in your abilities, but you can also rely on me a little. I’m not going to do anything big for you, am I? I’m just helping you with some homework corrections and material organization, right?” I smiled at Severus. I wasn’t here to argue with my lover. I was just giving him the most reasonable advice, wasn’t I?
"Okay, I'll definitely ask you for help next time." Severus was the type who wouldn't listen to reason, and he generally wouldn't refuse if you went along with his wishes.
"Hmm~ Let's eat something first. I'll go check if that material needs to be reworked." Seeing that Severus was already eating, I went straight to the place where the herbs were processed to check if the twins had finished processing them.
Fred and George are indeed quite mischievous, but when it comes to their responsibilities, they don't cause trouble and handle things very well. I organize all the materials they've processed and put them in their proper places.
Then he went back to Severus's side, picked up the little wizard's homework on his desk, and started correcting it one by one with a quill pen.
Severus is already used to this kind of thing I do; we used to just quietly do our own thing like this.
By the time we finished dealing with the little wizards' homework scrolls, it was already quite late.
I decided not to go back to my own dorm and just rest here at Severus's place, since I'm practically a regular here anyway.
After we had all taken a shower and were lying in bed together, I found it hard to fall asleep again.
"Ayers, is something going to happen in the final match of the Triwizard Tournament?" The two of them were lying quietly in bed, and I was even planning to count sheep to sleep, when Severus's deep voice suddenly rang out in the dark room.
"What's wrong, Severus? Is there something wrong with you?" At this point, I couldn't say that this Triwizard Tournament was just a little surprise that Riddle had prepared for me.
I wonder what Severus, Riddle's most trusted aide, will think when he sees me standing next to Riddle.
Should I give him a heads-up beforehand, otherwise I don't know how he'll face his boss later?
While I was still considering how to talk to Severus, he had already spoken.
“Ayers, do you know what’s going on?” Severus turned around and came closer to me, who was lying next to him.
There was a rustling sound in the darkness, and then I could feel a body radiating heat approaching me.
"Don't worry, I know what's going on, but I'm afraid you'll be too surprised." I turned around, which was lying flat, and gently placed one hand on Severus's waist, pulling him into my arms with a little force.
"Is it related to that person?" Severus wasn't stupid; he immediately guessed what I meant.
"Mmm." I closed my eyes and responded softly.
"Can I know about you and him, Ayers?" For some reason, Severus didn't feel particularly upset; instead, he was a little curious about the matter.
"Hmm? Why are you suddenly interested in our affairs?" I asked curiously, opening my eyes to look at Severus, whom I could see even in the darkness.
"It feels like you've known that person longer than I have." That was Severus's intuition; he simply felt that the master he followed seemed to have some indescribable relationship with his lover.
“He is my son,” I said to Severus jokingly.
"Huh, what?" Severus had calmly assumed I would say it was one of his lovers, but he didn't expect me to say it was his son. At first, he didn't react, but when he did, he stared at me with wide eyes.
"Haha, Severus, you heard me right. The person you're talking about is my legitimate son." I still have Riddle's adoption papers in my hand. There's no denying that Riddle is my adopted child.
Next, I lay down with Severus and recounted Riddle's story.
Severus, who had just heard this, never imagined that the master he followed also had a pitiful background, and he never imagined that this master was not a pure-blood wizard, but a half-blood wizard just like himself.
"Actually, he's quite cute. Why are you all so afraid of him? I have a lot of his embarrassing history here, but of course I won't show it to you without his permission," I said with a smile.
