Chapter 133 The Ultimate Change is Scarface
Chapter 133 The Ultimate Change is Scarface
Chapter 134 A Thousand Transformations, Yet Still the Scarface
Meanwhile, Scarface was about to ask Lupin if he knew about Snape's dealings with his father back then.
Unfortunately, class was getting late, and it wasn't the time to talk. Lupin simply pressed the ring knife at Harry's waist and walked straight to the end of the classroom.
Reaching the wardrobe, Lupin stopped and called out, "Alright, children, come to me now!"
Lockhart hurried forward, waving his sleeve and beckoning, "That's right, come to us."
Upon hearing this, the students immediately stopped talking about Lupin and Snape and gathered in a circle.
Just as they were looking, they suddenly heard the wardrobe make a loud crashing sound, as if a tiger had been trapped. It banged and rattled wildly, the wardrobe door shook violently, and the brass rings jingled as if they were about to burst open.
The students cried out in surprise and retreated in all directions.
Lockhart had already slipped behind Lupin, tugged at his sleeve, and whispered, "Remus, what's in there?"
"Just a Boggart."
"Ah, that's right, I also think it's a Boggart from the voice." He then cleared his throat and raised his voice, "So, can anyone tell me what a Boggart is?"
Harry, who had overheard everything, saw the fellow still showing off and remaining unrepentant. A fire ignited in his heart, a cold glint flashed in his eyes, and he gripped the hilt of his knife tightly.
Lockhart, being quick-witted, noticed the murderous look on Harry's face and hurriedly shrank back behind Lupin, still peeking out as he said, "Of course, that question was asked on behalf of Remus."
Hermione had already raised her hand and exclaimed, "A magical creature that can shapeshift, usually transforming into whatever it thinks will scare us the most!"
"Thank you, Miss Granger. I don't think I could have said it better."
"Gryffindor gets five points."
Lupin patted the cabinet door and laughed, "The Boggarts like to stay in dark, enclosed spaces. This one in the cabinet was found by school staff while cleaning abandoned classrooms."
With this slap, the wardrobe shook even more vigorously, sometimes like the sound of clashing swords and galloping horses, sometimes like the lament of a wronged soul in the night, as if a ventriloquist was hiding inside the room.
Although the students already knew what was hidden in the cabinet, the sound still made their hearts pound and they all took three or five steps back.
Lockhart felt a chill run down his spine and tugged at Lupin's sleeve: "Remus, isn't this creature too dangerous for children?"
Lupin nodded. "It is indeed a bit dangerous, but there's no other way. The children haven't learned anything in the past two years, so I have to speed things up."
Upon hearing this, Lockhart's face flushed crimson, and after stammering for a long time, he finally managed to argue:
"Well, you know, I was busy searching for the basilisk in the secret chamber last year, so I didn't have much time for teaching..."
Lupin ignored him and turned to the crowd, saying loudly, "I think you all know that a Dementor came aboard the train when school started."
"I asked my friends at the Ministry of Magic, and they said they boarded the train with the Ministry's permission to search for any suspicious persons."
"So, can anyone tell me why they went out of control and attacked the students?"
The students remained silent, only the strange noises emanating from the wardrobe continued. After a long while, Neville suddenly spoke:
"fear."
His throat bobbed as he tried to calm himself. "A Dementor entered my carriage, and the more terrified I became, the more it stared at me."
"That's right."
Lupin snapped his fingers. "Fear is like the smell of roast meat to Dementors; it makes them lose control of themselves."
"If you can overcome your fear, then not only Dementors, but most dark magic creatures will be unable to harm you."
"The Boggart is a very suitable teaching tool."
Upon hearing this, the students exchanged glances, speechless, feeling a tightness in their chests and cold sweat in their palms.
Could these terrifying magical creatures really be dealt with by students who have taken two years of Defense Against the Dark Arts classes but still have zero experience?
Seeing the doubt and uncertainty in everyone's eyes, Lu Ping knew they didn't trust his methods, so he could only sigh inwardly.
"Don't be nervous, kids. We have a huge advantage against this Boggart."
Can someone tell me?
Hermione suddenly raised her hand again. Lupin hesitated for a moment, then turned to Harry and asked, "Harry, can you tell me?"
Although Harry hadn't reviewed the lessons, he remained calm, stepped forward, clasped his hands in greeting, and said, "What the professor is saying must be about having a large and powerful force."
Lupin smiled and nodded, about to award points, when Harry added, "Right now, there are about a hundred of us, while that Boggart is all alone. Even if each of us kicked him, we could break his bones!"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone in the room suddenly understood. The students recalled the time they spent training their bodies in the secret room last year, and they all straightened their chests, the muscles on their arms twitching. Their previous fear had disappeared by seventy percent.
Lu Ping was stunned to see that these students were comparing the thickness of their muscles.
Is that correct?
When did Hogwarts become like this?
He was about to say the correct answer: "When Boggart meets multiple people, he doesn't know what to do," but he swallowed the words back.
"Alright, children, listen carefully. The spell to deal with the Boggart is 'funny funny,' repeat after me."
Upon hearing this, all the students raised their wands and shouted in unison.
"Hilarious! Hilarious!"
Lockhart huddled in the corner, peering out, and mumbled a sentence.
"But this spell alone is not enough. You need to mobilize the power of your heart, to stop being afraid and to genuinely find it funny."
After explaining everything, Lupin carefully examined the heads and suddenly called out, "Neville, why don't you be the first to demonstrate?"
Nawei jumped, then said nervously, "No problem."
Lu Ping immediately dismissed the crowd, clearing a space of about ten feet in diameter. He then held his staff in hand and loudly counted down:
"Three, two, one, go!"
Sparks flew from the tip of his staff as it struck the brass ring on the cupboard door. In an instant, the door flew open, and Harry leaped out, sword in hand and staff in hand, glaring and shouting:
"Damn it! Brother Neville is such a spineless coward, always so timid and hesitant, how can he be called a hero!"
Neville, who had shared a bed with Harry for two years, was most afraid of being looked down upon by the hero. Now, seeing Boggart disguised as Harry and uttering such hurtful words, he was so shocked that he stood there speechless.
Lupin was taken aback when he saw Boggart transform into Harry's appearance. Turning his head, he saw the real Harry standing there with his arms crossed, and quickly shouted:
"Symmo, it's your turn!"
Simo tightened his lips and stepped forward to confront Boggart.
Just then, the Boggart-in-the-hall transformed into Harry, and their eyes met. Suddenly, the Boggart-in-the-hall twisted and transformed into Harry, who was holding the Gryffindor sword and dressed in shorts!
Lupin's eyes widened in surprise. Harry again?!
Harry looked Seamus up and down, then shook his head and sighed, "I've been teaching all my brothers for over a month, and Seamus is the slowest to improve! No matter what spell he practices, he'll eventually create a spectacular explosion!"
"You may leave! I cannot teach you any more lessons!"
Seamus heard the noodles turn from pale to white, gritted his teeth, drew his wand, and roared, "Hilarious! Hilarious!"
Boggart Harry, struck by the curse, immediately composed himself, clasped his hands in a fist salute, and said, "Brother, your skill is impressive; I misjudged you!"
Lu Ping's eyelids suddenly twitched, and he felt strange and suspicious, but he didn't believe in superstition, so he pointed again in the crowd.
"Hermione!"
Hermione's heart pounded like a drum. She swallowed hard before taking a step forward. The Boggart Harry glanced at her, then turned again—and there he was, Harry again!
Lu Ping's eyes were glazed over, his mouth agape for a long time but he couldn't close it, his heart completely numb.
Are they all that afraid of Harry?
What exactly did Harry do to these students?
As he was filled with doubt and uncertainty, he suddenly saw Boggart Harry bleeding from all seven orifices, staggering towards Hermione, his head rolling to the ground with a mournful sound.
"Elder sister, you must avenge me..."
The students were horrified to see the head fall to the ground, their faces turning pale. Several of the more timid students had already gone limp.
Hermione's breath caught in her throat upon seeing this, her scalp tingled, and her wand trembled wildly as if she had Parkinson's disease.
Before the incantation could even be uttered, the real Harry couldn't contain himself any longer. He jumped in front of Hermione and shouted, "I want to see how this guy transforms into my likeness whenever he sees someone!"
As soon as Harry arrived, everyone scattered to both sides, craning their necks and whispering amongst themselves, creating quite a lively scene.
What do you think Harry is most afraid of?
"I think we should ask, does Harry actually have anything he's afraid of?"
As the crowd continued their discussion, they saw the bloody head, upon seeing the original figure, suddenly fly back to the neck, twist its body, and vanish without a trace.
The story goes: Boggart, with his myriad transformations, always takes the form of a scarred young man. Blood gushes from his seven orifices, a terrifying sight; his head and body are severed, and he tumbles to the ground. Even his magic wand cannot quell his fear, for his true form angrily storms through the void. To know what this hero is terrified of, please listen to the next chapter.
P.S.: Boggarts can talk. In the original books, Hermione saw a Boggart transform into McGonagall during the exam and told her she failed.
