Chapter 463 Grades 3 and 5
Chapter 463 Grades 3 and 5
Chapter 463 Third and Fifth Grades
On Monday morning, the weather was just as gloomy as it had been the previous few days, with light rain falling.
"That's enough, you two!"
In the Gryffindor common room, Hermione, who was about to go to breakfast, turned a corner and walked sternly to Fred and George. They both looked up in slight surprise, seemingly puzzled as to why Hermione had suddenly come over.
"I've already told you all before, you're not allowed to experiment your garbage on your classmates!" She glanced at the swaying first-year students behind Fred and George, her face turning even uglier.
"I really didn't expect you guys to be so ruthless, actually trying to scam those clueless first-year students!"
"We paid them!" Fred said indignantly.
George stood up too. "And they all know what they're doing!"
"Really?" Hermione raised an eyebrow. "Do you dare swear, in the name of the Weasley Studios, that those freshmen knew exactly what they had just eaten?"
Fred and George's lips twitched a few times, but neither of them could utter a word.
Indeed, they withheld some less important details during their previous persuasion. But that was just a necessary tactic; there's no need to make a fuss about it.
"Calm down, Hermione, everything will be alright." Lee Jordan came over to comfort her, while walking among the freshmen and stuffing purple candies into their mouths.
The new students quickly returned to normal.
"Look, they're all awake now," George said.
"I'm warning you, this is not allowed to happen again!" Hermione continued. "If I see it again, I'm writing to Mrs. Weasley and telling her what you've been up to at school!"
Fred and George, who had been wearing nonchalant expressions, immediately changed their demeanor.
They weren't afraid of the prefects or Hermione telling the professor, because they were confident that these things didn't violate any school rules, and those quick-acting truancy candies weren't on Filch's list of prohibited items.
Even if the professors found out, they couldn't do anything to them. At most, they would give them a few words of reprimand, which wouldn't hurt them much.
But Hermione accurately grasped their only weakness: their mother, Mrs. Weasley, was unreasonable.
They didn't answer, didn't speak, and stared angrily at Hermione; this was their last act of defiance.
But Hermione didn't care about any of that.
"I'll be keeping an eye on you," she said sarcastically, then turned and walked away.
As Celen came down the stairs, he saw Fred and George sitting there, breathing heavily.
"You seem to have run into a little trouble."
“Yes,” Fred said angrily. “We thought that once Percy graduated, no one would threaten us with such insidious tactics as writing letters to Mom anymore.”
"I can't believe another Hermione." George muttered under his breath as he vigorously gathered up some random candies from the side. "Are all the Gryffindor prefects given the same training?"
Celen looked at Lee Jordan with curiosity and learned what had happened from him.
It has to be said that Hermione was right; apart from Mrs. Weasley, there really wasn't anyone else who could make Fred and George feel wary. Not even Headmaster Dumbledore.
Speaking of Dumbledore, I don't know what he's been up to, leaving Hogwarts here and ignoring it completely.
On the other side, Fred had just snatched a vomit candy from a freshman's hand, his ferocious appearance making the freshman tremble with fear.
"Hey, you need to be more patient with the new students, don't be so rude," Siren said. "Actually, I have a way."
"What?" Fred and George looked over immediately.
"It's simple," Siron said. "Hermione just doesn't want you to target first-year students. If that's the case, why don't you just find someone else?"
That's it?
The expectation that had just appeared on their faces vanished instantly.
"I thought you had some great ideas?"
"You think we haven't tried?"
"The others aren't as easily fooled as the freshmen, unless we can come up with more Xico."
"That's because you didn't choose the right targets," Siren said, shaking his finger. "Third and fifth graders are the best."
"Oh?" The two looked over again.
Why?
"Because third graders get to visit Hogsmeade Village," Celen said. "Their first time there, whether it's Honeydukes, the Three Broomsticks, or Lady Patiffe's Tea House, they can easily empty their wallets."
"So you can wait until after the first Hogsmeade Week to go find the third-year students; the success rate will definitely increase."
.
Fred and George's eyes lit up, and they quickly took out a notebook and started writing.
"There's still fifth grade, so will it have to wait until after the first Hogsmeade Week?" George asked.
“No,” Siren said. “This is simpler. You just need to give them a free reason to skip class. I’m sure plenty of people would rather lie in the school hospital for two hours, especially during Potions class.”
"However, this will increase your chances of being exposed. If the professor finds out, the effectiveness of your quick-fix truancy aid will be greatly reduced."
"It's alright," Fred continued writing everything down in his notebook. "We'll be careful."
"You're amazing, Celen, you're a genius!" George said excitedly. "How can we possibly thank you?"
"Thanks are unnecessary, just don't tell anyone about me when the professor catches you."
"Don't worry," Fred patted his chest, "we'll definitely tell everyone—oh, we mean, we definitely won't."
The two were overjoyed and insisted on taking Xilun to dinner in the auditorium, telling him not to be shy and to hurry up, saying he could eat as much as he wanted.
Xilun didn't say anything, and just left the common room with them, chatting as they walked to the foyer.
"By the way, there's something I've always wanted to ask you."
"What is it?"
"About the Marauder's Map," Siren asked. "Has this map ever broken before when you used it?"
'
"Huh? What do you mean?" George asked, puzzled.
"It's when the name and the person are different," Siron said. "For example, we're on our way to the Great Hall, and the map shows either Ron or Harry's name."
"Never," Fred said.
"At least there are no problems with what we haven't seen," George added.
After all, there are so many people at Hogwarts, and they can't guarantee that the map is truly accurate in spelling out every name.
"What, did you notice someone's name was misspelled?"
"No, no." Xiren shook his head. "I was just asking out of curiosity."
