Chapter 296 Two Dwarfs in Funny Costumes
Chapter 296 Two Dwarfs in Funny Costumes
The Christmas holidays are over.
Harry and Sirius had been trying to cheer our family up, but I couldn't really enjoy it when I thought about Ginny.
Although there were delicious food at the party and the gorgeous Christmas tree fascinated me, the figure of Jinni always appeared in my mind.
After staying at the Black family for one night, our family returned to the Burrow. It was then that I discovered that I had received a Christmas present in my room.
Harry and Sirius received their gifts directly at the party, while Hermione, Neville and others' gifts were delivered to the Burrow.
Among them was a Christmas card written in a handwriting I didn't recognize.
The card shows a beautiful snow scene, with the deep forest covered in silver and snowflakes flying.
The message on the card was just one sentence: "Looking forward to that moment." The signature was just the initials "TN."
The card didn't seem to have any magic on it, it was just a normal card. But I had no idea who it was from.
What does that moment... mean?
I thought maybe it was sent to the wrong address, but it did have my name on it.
Although I was confused, the card showed no signs of magic and the photo was beautiful, so I decided to keep it for now.
After the Christmas holidays, Hermione waited for the opportunity to use Polyjuice Potion, but fortunately for Harry and me, that opportunity never came.
The professors seemed to think that students had forgotten almost all the knowledge during the Christmas break, so after the break, the homework load almost doubled.
Even Hermione didn't have the energy to take care of other things, and since no one was petrified after the holidays, she decided to focus on her studies first.
Since the attack on Justin and Sir Nick, no one else had been attacked and the atmosphere at Hogwarts had begun to calm down a little.
Before we knew it, it was already February, and not only the students but also the professors had begun to relax a little.
But trouble often arises when you let your guard down...
I realized this at breakfast on February 2th.
The walls of Hogwarts were tacky decorated with blankets of pink flowers, and heart-shaped confetti fluttered from the ceiling.
This scene is so eye-catching that one can hardly believe what one sees. The instigator of all this was revealed by Lockhart's "thank you" speech.
Lockhart, wearing a totally tasteless, tacky pink robe, seemed to completely ignore the expressionless faces of the other professors in the faculty gallery as he shouted, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
He then introduced “my lovely messengers of love!” – twelve dwarfs in funny costumes – making everyone burst out in laughter.
Harry received so many Valentine's Day cards that day that it was pathetic.
As for me, I should have said something comforting to Harry, but the Valentine's Day card and rose I received kept me from doing anything else.
As Lockhart introduced what he called "Cupid," a wood owl—presumably one of the school's—flew up to me with a card and a crimson rose tied with a green ribbon.
The sender's name still had the initials "TN", which was exactly the same as the handwriting on the Christmas card.
The message on the card was just one sentence: "It will be ready soon."
I thought at the time that this message was so profound.
I checked and found that the card did not cast any magic. Although I suspected a stalker for a while, I did not usually feel any uncomfortable gazes.
Although I felt it was a bit suspicious, I thought there was no need to make a fuss about it, so I kept quiet.
However, I would soon regret my handling of the matter.
