Chapter 3 The White Wolf's Observation
Chapter 3 The White Wolf's Observation
Before the water ghosts behind him could pounce, Geralt stood up, and several flames shot out from his hands, igniting the water ghosts gathered together behind him. The water ghosts immediately scattered like birds and beasts, fleeing in all directions.
The previously blocked gate was suddenly cleared.
"Kun'en Seal!"
Geralt didn't rush out of the house. Instead, he used the Quen sign first, and only after his body was covered in orange magical armor did he step towards the door.
Sure enough, as soon as Geralt stepped out the door, several water ghosts that had been lying in ambush on the roof beams swung their claws and pounced on him, but they were blocked by the magical armor formed by the Quen sign.
Geralt rolled forward repeatedly, picked up the silver sword he had left on the ground, and immediately turned around. With agile footwork and the silver sword in hand, he swung the sword like a spinning meat grinder at the water ghost in front of him.
In an instant, blood splattered and limbs flew everywhere. After clearing some space, Geralt casually slapped the ground, casting the Aard sign. A purple magic circle immediately appeared on the ground. Geralt assumed a defensive stance, standing in the center of the magic circle, waiting for the enemy to strike.
The moment the water demons rushed into the magic circle, their originally swift movements suddenly slowed down, as if a video had been slowed down. Every move they made was like slow motion. Even though there were still quite a few water demons rushing up, it did not affect Geralt's response.
Geralt, facing the relentless onslaught of water ghosts, unleashed his almost instinctive Wolf School Witcher swordsmanship. His silver sword struck the water ghosts as if slicing through rotting, bloated flesh, producing a muffled "thud."
Geralt forgot everything; all he wanted now was to kill the water ghosts in front of him. He could feel the subtle vibrations of each blade grazing the water ghost's bones, and the "sizzle" sound of the silver sword being pulled from flesh, just like the sound of paper being torn.
"Huff, huff, huff..."
Geralt, panting heavily, stopped swinging his silver sword. There were no more living water ghosts around him, only a pile of mutilated corpses and severed limbs.
He didn't know how much time had passed, but the sun had begun to set. As the afterglow of the setting sun shone on Geralt's blood-stained face, the pain in Geralt's heart eased considerably. The decision that had flashed through his mind earlier was now firmly established after a satisfying massacre.
At this moment, Geralt felt much better. For him, hitting and killing were good ways to vent his negative emotions.
As night fell and the cool moonlight shone on the swamp, Geralt had already cleaned himself of the blood and checked his equipment.
The steel sword and silver sword were in perfect condition, and he knew exactly what sword oil, potions, decoctions, and alchemical bombs he had left.
Geralt pulled out Ciri's Witcher badge from the inner pocket of his leather armor, his rough fingers slowly rubbing the wolf's head on the badge, his mind fully prepared.
"God, I accept your invitation."
As soon as Geralt mentally responded to the Supreme God's invitation, he vanished from his spot in an instant.
The scene shifts to the opening scene of the horror movie Resident Evil.
When the others looked grim after Zhang Jie's retort, the young woman with glasses spoke up to ease the tension:
"Who would have thought that simply clicking 'Yes' would send us into a horror movie? I don't think anyone would want to enter a horror movie, and it seems we're going to experience more than one! Who could stand that?!"
Seeing that Zhang Jie's expression had softened slightly, the young woman with glasses continued:
"And if it were other types of films, such as comedies or romance films, we probably wouldn't be so afraid."
"So, sir, if you have a way to go back to the real world, please tell us!"
Geralt continued to listen silently to everyone's conversation, gathering information.
Geralt has now determined that these people are probably not from the same continent as him. They must be from another world and are somewhat familiar with this strange place where they are.
At this moment, Zheng Zha also spoke up:
"Yes, brother, if we can go back to the real world, please tell us!"
"If I were to watch a supernatural horror movie in the future, just thinking about it would be quite despairing. Compared to tangible monsters, intangible ghosts are even more terrifying!"
Upon hearing Zheng Zha's words, Zhang Jie's previously relaxed expression froze instantly, and Geralt's orange cat eyes keenly caught the fleeting look of fear in Zhang Jie's eyes.
"Supernatural horror film."
As Zhang Jie spoke, he lit another cigarette, took a deep drag, and slowly exhaled a smoke ring. His eyes were unfocused, as if he were lost in thought or recalling something.
After taking a few puffs of his cigarette, Zhang Jie's expression returned to normal. At that moment, the chubby boy next to him suddenly interjected:
"I'm telling you guys, you're all pretty immersed in this. What if what we're experiencing right now is just a game? Maybe our consciousness has just entered this place, like a virtual game in a movie or novel. If we die, we can return to our bodies and return to the real world."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Jie's previously normal expression turned even more unpleasant, but surprisingly he didn't get angry. Instead, he gave the chubby boy a meaningful look.
Geralt was familiar with that look; it was the look of someone staring at a dead person.
Zhang Jie looked away and said to Geralt, Zheng Zha, and the others:
"Complete the mission and return to the Main God Space alive to receive 1,000 reward points. These reward points can be exchanged for all sorts of things in the Main God Space. If you can think of it, there's nothing you can't get from the Main God."
"The prerequisite is that you have enough reward points. As long as you can get 5 reward points, you can exchange them for something called Return to Origin. After that, you can completely leave the God Space and return to the real world."
The somewhat timid young man, who had remained silent until now, spoke somewhat blankly:
"Fifty thousand points, are you sure it's not five thousand points?"
Zhang Jie smiled sarcastically, but did not reply.
The young woman wearing glasses adjusted her glasses, which had slipped down to the bridge of her nose, and calmly asked:
"Fifty thousand points, which means we'd need to experience fifty horror movies even without spending a single point, is illogical. There must be other ways to earn reward points, right?"
At that moment, Geralt raised the black watch on his wrist and said:
"Look here, the answer you're looking for is here!"
Geralt had already noticed the black watch that had inexplicably appeared on his body and studied it, discovering some information provided by the main god on it.
