Chapter 332 The Curse on Zhang Xiaohou
Chapter 332 The Curse on Zhang Xiaohou
"That's what I thought at first too, but do you know what the survey team I met told us?" the short man said mysteriously.
"What did you say?" Jiang Han asked, puzzled.
"They said there's not a single person in Yangyang Village. Isn't that terrifying?" the short man said.
Upon hearing this news, Jiang Han raised his eyebrows slightly, feeling that there seemed to be some clues in Yangyang Village that could not be ignored. Zhang Xiaohou, who was following the White Bone Lizard Demon, suddenly trembled and his slightly confused pupils shrank.
"Monkey, did something ring?" Jiang Han asked, noticing Zhang Xiaohou's movements.
"I seem to remember that when our team passed through Yangyang Village, we stayed overnight in the village," Zhang Xiaohou said, rubbing his head in pain.
"What kind of curse is this? It seems to target monkey memories?" Jiang Han murmured.
Jiang Han then jumped off the back of the white bone lizard demon, came to Zhang Xiaohou's side, patted him on the shoulder to signal him to relax. In fact, Jiang Han had just sensed a faint spiritual fluctuation from Zhang Xiaohou's body, which seemed to be some kind of evil curse.
"If you can't remember, then don't think about it anymore," Jiang Han then said to Zhang Xiaohou.
Jiang Han didn't notice that a pair of eyes were watching them from the back of the group, but the person quickly looked away and started chatting with a few villagers around him.
The group continued onward, and after the second night, they were getting closer and closer to the ancient capital.
"It's dawn! It's dawn! Cheer up and try to reach the ancient capital tonight!" Hong Jun shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Hong Jun, you've been studying magic for several years now. When you get to Gu Neng, will you be able to find everyone a stable place to live?" a village woman asked Hong Jun.
"Aunt Qin, please leave this small matter to me," Hong Jun said, patting his chest as if to say, "I'll take care of it."
Hearing Hong Jun agree so readily, the villagers started chatting, their faces beaming with happiness.
It was relatively safe during the day, so the group moved in a more scattered manner. Mo Fan and Liu Ru returned to the front of the group from the back. Liu Ru massaged Jiang Han's shoulders as usual while he sat on the white bone lizard demon, while Mo Fan chatted and joked with the dwarf.
The short man was quite surprised during their conversation; he hadn't expected that Mo Fan and that young master surnamed Jiang were actually from Bocheng.
In an effort to build rapport with the two men, the short man shared a lot of information with Jiang Han and Mo Fan, most notably about the refugees Bo Cheng had arranged for them in the ancient capital.
Although the commander-level demon Winged Wolf was killed by Jiang Kun and Zhan Kong, there were still a large number of surviving One-Eyed Demon Wolves, Giant-Eyed Blood Rat and other demons in Bo City. Therefore, the surviving citizens were temporarily settled in two places.
One group, like Mo Fan's family, was assigned to the suburbs of Shanghai, while another group was assigned to the ancient capital. Although many people returned after Bo City was rebuilt, some remained in the places where they were placed.
Mu Bai, Zhou Min, and many other high school classmates are studying at the Ancient Capital Academy. Interestingly, the short man also knows a rich young man named Mu Bai who is also from Bo City. Moreover, that guy has arranged jobs for many Bo City refugees in the Ancient Capital.
Just as the short man was boasting incessantly, a scream suddenly rang out from the back of the group.
"Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!"
The scream, filled with immense pain, startled many in the group. Jiang Han, Mo Fan, and the others looked back simultaneously, where a cloud of blood sprayed up behind them, followed by the screams of the villagers.
"The dead, the dead!!!"
"My uncle was dragged down by the spirits of the dead, he's dead! He's dead!"
"Aaaaaahh ...
Just then, a piercing scream rang out. A village woman who was fleeing in panic fell to the ground, and a sharp, corpse-like claw suddenly emerged from the loose soil.
The dark, corpse claw easily pierced through the village woman's abdomen, followed by a gush of blood. The gruesome scene caused many onlookers to involuntarily experience abdominal spasms.
"They're here too!!"
"Help me! Help me! Someone please help me!"
"Don't panic, everyone, don't panic..."
The villagers scattered and were attacked by the undead. Jiang Han turned his head and saw that many rotting undead crawled out of the ground and then frantically attacked the villagers who were running around like headless flies.
In just a few seconds, many places were stained red with blood.
"Holy crap, this undead is out of control! Daring to kill people in broad daylight!" Mo Fan couldn't help but curse.
"These spirits are suspicious. Mo Fan, you and Liu Ru go and protect the children first," Jiang Han said.
Just as Mo Fan said, in the past, these undead would never dare to wander around during the day, but now they actually crawl out of the ground and attack people during the day.
Normally, the undead would pounce on and devour a living creature after killing it, but today the undead attacking the villagers weren't there to eat; they were purely killing. After killing one, they would immediately pounce on other nearby survivors.
