Chapter 23 Frillian's Analysis Work
Chapter 23 Frillian's Analysis Work
When Frilian and the others returned, only Ellie and Raofen were still in the cabin.
"What about Lynn and Kraft?"
Frillie looked around and asked casually.
Laofen, sitting cross-legged on the bench, tilted her head as she answered:
"He said he was going out to get some decent ingredients, and he should be back soon."
"These two guys certainly have a lot of energy."
After Frillian finished speaking, she looked at Duncan and said, "Let's begin analyzing Mahat's memories."
After receiving Mahat's memories from Duncan, she instantly lost all strength and fell backward.
With quick reflexes, Philon supported her back firmly with both arms.
"I'm analyzing the deeper parts of this memory. All my body's processing power is being used to manipulate magical resources. In short, I can no longer move normally. Philon, remember to feed me, and also help me change my clothes, wash my hair, and braid my hair."
"This sounds no different from usual."
Philon complained, but skillfully adjusted her posture to make Frilian more comfortable.
Bang!
Something kicked open the door of the wooden house.
Startled by the commotion, Philon and Duncan turned around at the same time.
The light at the entrance was completely blocked, and two mountains of flesh stood there.
Those were two enormous wild boars with tusks, their thick manes still covered in mud.
Lynn and Kraft each carried one end, completely blocking the doorway.
Lynn shrugged and unloaded the wild boar onto the ground.
Boom!
The ground shook.
Kraft carried the largest boar king on one arm, walked to the corner of the yard, bent down, and put it down.
The movement was so gentle, like placing a basket of eggs, that it didn't even disturb the dust on the ground.
"Uncle Kraft!"
Ellie rushed out of the house, staring wide-eyed at the two enormous creatures on the ground: "Wow! They're huge!"
"Just beaten, fresh."
Kraft wiped the sweat from his face with his sleeve. "Lynn said there were a lot of people and he was worried there wouldn't be enough to eat, so he grabbed an extra one."
Philon looked at the two lumps of meat and said, "Isn't this a bit too much?"
"not much."
Lynn unbuttoned his coat to cool off, "What do you guys think of using one end for stewing and the other end for roasting?"
"I'll help you handle it!"
Hugh Tarek immediately became interested and rolled up his sleeves.
"Okay, you take charge of the side Kraft is targeting, I'll handle this side."
Lynn drew his longsword from his waist with a backhand motion, the blade slicing through the air and precisely piercing the boar's neck.
With a flick of the wrist, the tip of the sword slid down the spine.
A straight slit appeared in the thick fur of the wild boar, and as the sword moved, the entire boar skin smoothly flipped open to both sides.
The bones and muscles automatically separate under the sword tip, the movement is crisp and clean.
The precise control over that power left Shutark speechless.
"I'll prepare the seasonings."
With a flick of her staff, Philon's magic flowed, and the potato skins peeled off smoothly.
Laofen, standing to the side, was struggling with an onion, her eyes reddening from the pungent smell, and she kept sniffing.
With the ingredients ready, Lynn, Kraft, and Hugh Thurke set up a pot outside and began cooking.
A large black pot was quickly set up and placed on the fire, the water inside bubbling away.
Lynn put the meat and seasonings into the pot and put the lid on.
The meat chunks went into the pot and sizzled.
The rich aroma of meat instantly filled the courtyard.
"How much longer?"
Ellie stared intently at the pot lid; this was her eighth question.
Two minutes.
Lynn checked the heat.
When the time was up, Lynn quickly lifted the lid of the pot.
White steam rose into the air, carrying a rich aroma of meat.
The broth in the pot was an enticing dark reddish-brown, with chunks of meat bobbing in the bubbling liquid, and the potatoes stewed until soft and tender, their edges melting into the soup.
Lynn picked up the long-handled wooden spoon and stirred it a couple of times. The chunks of meat that had sunk to the bottom surged to the surface, and the aroma became even stronger.
"Get a bowl."
"They're here!"
Ellie was the first to hand over the bowl, almost shoving it into Lynn's face.
Lynn took the bowl and filled it to the brim, then walked over to Frillie and said, "Come on, let the hardest working people here have a taste first."
At this moment, Frilian was lying on Philon's lap without any regard for her image, exuding an aura of laziness.
Philon sat upright, his fingers running through Frilian's long, silvery-white hair, carefully smoothing the ends.
"Here, feed her first."
Lynn handed the bowl to Philon.
Philon immediately took the bowl and spoon.
"Feed me..."
Frilian snuggled against Philon's legs, finding a more comfortable position, without even opening her eyes.
"Philon, no matter what, aren't you spoiling her a bit too much?"
Shuttalk said.
"There's nothing we can do about it."
Philon scooped up a piece of meat with a spoon, blew on it to cool it down, and said, "After all, Ms. Frillian is doing very important work."
"Did you hear that?"
With her eyes closed, Frillie said lazily, "Analyzing Mahat's memories is very mentally taxing. I don't even have the strength to lift a spoon right now."
"Yes, yes, yes."
Philon, as if coaxing a child, held the spoon to her lips, "Come on, open your mouth."
Frillie opened her mouth slightly.
"ah--"
The piece of meat was put into the mouth.
The next second, the thousand-year-old elf frowned and called out indistinctly, "Philen, it's so hot, please blow on it for me."
"OK."
Philon scooped up another piece of meat and blew on it gently.
huh-huh-
Once the heat had dissipated, Philon handed it over again.
Frilian then swallowed it whole with satisfaction, letting out a contented hum.
"I want more."
"it is good."
Philon continued feeding.
Shutark, holding a bowl, squatted down and complained, "This is just a spoiled brat."
"Philan, eating only meat can get boring."
Lynn suddenly laughed and said, "Feeding Frillie more onions is good for her health."
Philon immediately picked out some onion slices, ready to feed them.
"Don't listen to him, I hate onions."
Frilian shook her head and shrank her head into Philon's arms.
"Feed her more."
Hugh Tarek was fanning the flames from the sidelines.
After being forced to finish munching onions, Frillie muttered, "Lynn is such a mean-spirited guy."
"By the way, Frilian, how long will it take you to fully analyze all the memories?"
"Shutark asked."
Frillie's voice was muffled: "Two months."
"Does it really take that long?"
Hugh Tarek was puzzled.
"Two months will pass very quickly."
Duncan, who had been silent all along, put down his bowl. "I had been mentally prepared for this for three years."
As the last spoonful of broth was scraped clean from the bottom of the pot, this noisy dinner finally came to an end.
Ellie slumped in her chair, rubbing her stomach; Laofen was still peering into the pot; and Shutark was being ordered by Philon to wash the dishes.
"Alright, we've finished eating."
Duncan sat at the table. "It will take Frilian two months to analyze Mahat's memories. I don't have a bed here, so let's go and stay in the only village nearby for now."
……
It was already late at night when we arrived in the village.
Lynn and the others found a nearly bankrupt hotel in the village to stay in.
Lying on the slightly hard wooden bed, my spine ached from the pressure.
"I'll have to part ways with Kraft sooner or later. With my current strength, it's going to be tough for me to go to the Land of Souls on my own."
Having 100% of Nan Yong's strength, he could fight a hundred Mahats, but that doesn't mean having 25% of his strength would allow him to fight twenty-five Great Demons like Mahats.
Even if I give it my all now, I can only manage to defeat one Mahat at best. If I add Solitaire to the mix, I can at most guarantee that I won't be killed.
"We must become stronger."
Lynn clenched his fist loosely, making up his mind.
