But he just couldn't bring himself to dislike this girl, which was the complete opposite of Gao Kui, who hated Chen Motong no matter what.
Angers ignored the foolish Chen Motong and turned to Gao Kui: "How about those two guns customized by the Equipment Department? Are they handy?"
"Top-notch." Gao Kui gave a thumbs up. The ebony and white ivory were truly superb. Even without activating the alchemical matrix on the gun, its power surpassed that of many large-caliber rifle bullets.
"As long as you're satisfied."
Angers nodded and then asked, "What's your impression of Kassel?"
"It almost fulfilled all my fantasies about university: energetic students, all kinds of clubs and activities, and beautiful girls with infinitely perfect figures wearing short skirts, stockings, and loafers..."
In short, it's the Hope's Peak Academy University version of Danganronpa.
Gao Kui tilted his head as he described his ideal university experience. He loved the atmosphere of Kassel, with its stunning scenery nestled between mountains and water.
Everyone was completely baffled, only vaguely understanding Gao Kui's words. What was this "Danganronpa" or Hope's Peak Academy? They had absolutely no idea what it meant.
However, it's likely a youth-themed work, probably Japanese, as Kassel does indeed have a strong high school vibe reminiscent of Japanese anime.
Seeing that Gao Kui was very satisfied with Kassel, Angers nodded with satisfaction: "Kassel is a university that encourages students to develop their personal interests and expertise. The four years in Kassel are the best time of many mixed-race people's lives."
Gao Kui complained: "The way you're saying that makes it sound like Kassel students will be conscripted and sent to the most dangerous battlefields as filler boys as soon as they graduate."
"Although I try my best to deny it, it is a fact that many students end up in dangerous executive departments after graduation."
Moreover, outstanding mixed-race individuals like you may be recruited into the Executive Department for missions while still in school.
"I'm still a minor. If they recruit me, would that be considered child labor? By the way, can I file a complaint against Kassel with a union like the Child Protection Association? There seem to be many similar organizations here in the US, such as the Child Protection Association, the Animal Protection Association, and the Green Space Protection Association..."
Gao Kui pointed to himself; he wouldn't truly turn eighteen until after his birthday in December.
Angers discussed the relevant legal issues with Gao Kui very seriously: "The school recruits you temporarily into the executive department under the guise of campus activities and social practice activities, so it doesn't count as employing child labor. You probably can't sue Kassel on similar grounds..."
As the last rays of the setting sun completely disappeared into the sky, the moon climbed to the treetops, casting a cool, clear light, and the entire city of Kassel shifted from warm to cool tones.
A deafening roar came from the horizon, and a castle-like building collapsed with a crash, raising a cloud of dust.
Angers, his face ashen, turned and looked in the direction from which the explosion had come. Gao Kui and the other students from Kassel also turned and looked in that direction.
Most of the Kassel students appeared calm, as if the sudden explosion was something they had expected.
Dozens of researchers in protective suits rushed out of the ruins, covered in dust and dirt. They looked around and spotted Angers, waving as they ran toward them.
Gao Kui pulled out ebony and white ivory from his waist and looked at the group of researchers running towards him: "Is this an enemy attack? By the way, the one running at the front has a very Ultraman human form style."
At the end of each Ultraman episode, the protagonist, having defeated the monster, would run towards the camera from afar in the sunset. However, this is rarely done with the newer generation of Ultraman; some of them don't even have a defense force.
"It wasn't an enemy attack, it was just a routine operation by the equipment department."
Angers pressed down on Gao Kui, who was raising his gun, and helplessly introduced the identity of the human form of Ultraman running from a distance: "That's Akadura, the minister of the equipment department in Kassel. The group of people behind him are all researchers from the equipment department."
Many of the weapons and technologies in Kassel were developed by them, including your ebony and white ivory. Of course, the alchemical parts of those two guns were handled by others.
Returning to the Equipment Department, they are extremely enthusiastic about developing all sorts of unconventional bombs. Last year alone, they caused six explosion accidents, and many students in Kassel are afraid to go near the Equipment Department..."
Another deafening roar followed as a building located 500 meters north of the equipment department collapsed, the explosion echoing through the sky.
Minister Akadullah was running towards the crowd, shouting something, but because of the distance and another explosion, almost no one could hear what he was saying.
Angers' expression completely changed this time.
The building 500 meters away from the equipment department is unremarkable and has no story behind it. However, Kassel's ice cellar is located directly beneath that building.
With his excellent eyesight and hearing, Caesar used both senses to finally decipher what Minister Akadura was saying: the explosion had nothing to do with the equipment department.
“There is an enemy attack.” Angers overturned his previous conclusion.
Two dark figures, a man and a woman, stood close to the corner of the Kassel library wall, holding their breath and watching as Kassel descended into chaos.
"It's done."
In the shadows unnoticed by anyone, the woman put away a remote control and explained, "I just blew up the above-ground buildings of the Kassel Equipment Department and the Ice Cellar, and I also planted time bombs in some other above-ground buildings."
That said, we should also thank the free day event in Kassel. At other times, it would have been really difficult to sneak in and plant so many bombs.
In short, all of Kassel is in chaos right now, everyone's busy checking for bombs on campus, and we have plenty of time to sneak into the library and find what we want.
If Caesar and Isabel were there, they would have recognized the woman's voice; she was the one who had just been egging them on, shouting, "Show some spirit, don't embarrass yourselves!"
If Gao Kui and Chen Motong were present, they would also recognize that the woman in the shadows with incredibly long legs and a hot figure was none other than Jiu De Mai, who had previously disguised herself as a taxi driver.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, Mai Shude and the man quickly blended into the library, carefully moving towards the elevator while staying close to the edge where the library's security cameras couldn't see them.
"What are we doing at the elevator? Isn't what we're looking for in the library?" the man asked in a low voice, glancing around the library.
The layout of the Kassel Library is largely similar to that of the offices in Angers, with specific furnishings referencing the British Library in London, giving it a distinctly old-money feel.
"What we're looking for is down below."
Mai Shude moved carefully close to the wall, explaining, "The library in Kassel has a total of seven floors, one above ground and six below. The ground floor has the most books but is also the least important."
The sixth basement level, though called a library, is actually more like an archive, storing ancient books and materials collected by the secret society over the past hundred years, as well as some top-secret files.
The bottom floor is the Kassel main control room, where a supercomputer is located, storing all the digital data.
What we're looking for should be on the fourth or fifth basement level. If we can't find it there, we'll have to try our luck in the main control room.
As they spoke, the two moved to the elevator inside the library.
Mai Shude opened the backpack on her back and took out a set of equipment similar to the one Tom Cruise used when he infiltrated the Kromlin to steal documents in Mission: Impossible 4. She then set it up around the elevator with the man.
A huge curtain was drawn back, and the false image fooled the library's surveillance equipment, obscuring the two people behind the curtain and creating a confusing illusion.
The man, or rather the boy, frowned slightly as he examined the button next to the elevator that resembled a time clock. It seemed that he would need to know the password to use this elevator.
Why is stealing a file so complicated?
However, it's not really realistic to allow just anyone to use the elevator to access the underground archives and main control room.
How to do?
After a moment's thought, the boy reached behind him and a huge black sword box, shaped like a Western-style coffin, slung diagonally behind him. With a crisp clattering sound, the box unfolded, revealing seven different-sized cold weapons that resembled steel wings.
Horse-chopping sword, Tang sword, Japanese samurai sword, Damascus steel sword...
Each weapon was sharp and gleaming with a cold light, like a brand-new Swiss Army knife that had just come off the assembly line.
The boy placed his hand on the hilt of the largest sword.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Mai Shude hurriedly stopped the boy.
"Cut this elevator down." The boy's idea was simple and brutal.
This elevator requires a password to use, and they definitely don't have it. Since it's unusable, they might as well just chop it into pieces and go down the elevator shaft.
As for whether the elevator can be destroyed, that's the last thing we need to consider.
This weapon set, named Seven Deadly Sins, has accompanied him in his battles over the past four years, slaying countless demons and monsters. To this day, it shows no signs of dulling or chipping, truly indestructible.
We've even cut metals that are more than ten times harder than steel.
"Aside from simply destroying this elevator, don't you have any other ideas for getting to the lower levels?" Mai asked.
"magic."
Without a second thought, the boy replied, "I also know some random magic and secret arts, but they'll cause a bigger commotion."
"For example?"
"For example, razing this building to the ground."
Saketoku Mai slapped her forehead speechlessly: "This is completely devoid of skill. I really don't know how you became the world's number one bounty hunter."
"Because I'm good enough at it."
The young man said expressionlessly, "I've worked with many colleagues, and they all have unique skills. Some can pry open the security doors of an entire neighborhood with just a wire, while others can hack into the internal networks of large companies with just a laptop..."
But ever since I debuted, the number one name on the bounty hunter leaderboard has always been me: John Wick.
John Wick was the code name he gave himself. When you're in the underworld, most people use code names and very few use their real names.
Why bother with all those fancy things?
One spell and everything's done; if that doesn't work, just a couple more hits. That's how the boy has handled all the missions he's taken on the dark web so far.
"Not this time."
Mai Shude shook her head: "You are indeed very good at fighting, but there are many good fighters in this school."
"That old man named Angers, and that guy who jumped in the helicopter, they're pretty good fighters too. They know all sorts of weird secret techniques and magic, just like us. You might not be able to handle both of them."
"They are both really good."
For some reason, John could definitely sense that Angers and Gao Kui were better than the rest of the Kassel team: "But I'm still confident I can beat them, even if the whole academy comes together."
"They have deep connections and can mobilize armed helicopters, fighter jets, missiles, and even nuclear weapons."
John immediately fell silent. He was indeed a formidable fighter, and so far he had never seen anyone more capable than him, but if the targets of the battle were airplanes and guns, then forget it.
Scratching his head, John asked helplessly, "We can't fight, and we can't cut, what else can we do?"
"Do you see a card like this?"
Mai Shude pulled out a card the size of a bank card, held it in her hand, and shook it: "This card has a very powerful hacking program built in, capable of hard-breaking most firewalls in the world today, like this..."
Mai Shude inserted the card into the card reader slot next to the elevator, pressed a few buttons randomly, and the elevator door opened with a "ding".
John loosened his grip on the hilt of his broadsword, closed the Seven Deadly Sins sword case, and muttered speechlessly, "If you have a way to open the elevator door, why are you telling me all this?"
Outside the library, chaos reigned as all the teachers and students of Kassel searched high and low for the intruder. Shouldn't they be racing against time?
Mai Shude's face hardened: "Shut up, do you still want to find your brother?"
“You decide,” John said, no longer arguing.
From a very young age, when he was able to support himself, he had been searching for his brother, a brother who only existed in his memory and whose image was vague. This had become his obsession.
Perhaps his so-called brother never existed, or perhaps he had too little joy. Even though he had become the world's number one bounty hunter and had traveled almost the entire world, he still hadn't found his brother.
Until recently, a woman named Mai Shude approached him, saying she had clues about his brother.
It was a very strange feeling.
Although Mai Shude was vague and didn't tell him any useful information, she even gave him a bunch of messy and troublesome tasks, saying that they were one of the necessary conditions to find his brother.
John just felt that Mai Shude hadn't lied to him, at least not subjectively.
"Now, let's go down and find the document that's related to your brother."
