The primary task of those executive officers was never to protect them or Gao Kui, but to kill Gao Kui when he completely lost control, minimizing the losses and impact.
As for whether they would be killed when Gao Kui completely lost control, Masashi Tomiyama felt that the executive department probably didn't care.
Soon, Gao Kui finished singing a complete section.
"What song is this? It sounds pretty good," Ye Sheng asked, savoring the moment.
"Fireworks Fade Easily," a work by Jay Chou.
Ye Sheng remained silent. He also quite liked Jay Chou and firmly believed that Jay Chou had never created a song called "Fireworks Fade Easily".
This can't possibly be a Jay Chou song!
But Ye Sheng did not refute Gao Kui, for fear of provoking him.
"Besides the musical works, do you remember anything else from your original world, such as major national events?"
"All I remember is that big real estate tycoon became the President of the United States, for two terms."
"Wow~"
Ye Sheng and Jiu Deya exclaimed in low voices, Tomiyama Masashi's expression turned serious, and Guderian's expression also turned serious when he saw that Tomiyama Masashi's expression was not right.
The illness seems rather serious. They simply cannot imagine what kind of world it would be if that boastful real estate tycoon became the President of the United States.
"You just said that the two worlds are similar on the surface. If you're talking about the surface, then there must be some deeper world, right? Are there any differences between them?"
"some."
Gao Kui thought for a moment and told him the truth: "This world is not a normal world. It is just a fictional world in a youth fantasy work called 'Dragon Raja'."
The whole world is a novel.
Dragon clan!
Masashi Tomiyama and his companions' pupils constricted sharply. Compared to the idea that the whole world was a novel, they were more concerned about the word "dragon race."
Similar to the former, the whole world is just a novel. Not to mention mentally ill people, many normal people have thought about this. It's quite common.
"Tell me in detail the general plot of this novel, the main characters and such!" Masashi Tomiyama eagerly pressed.
"In this novel's world, there are dragons, hybrids, a superpower called 'Word Power,' a dragon-slaying academy called Kassel, and two characters, Chu Zihang and Lu Mingfei..."
Gao Kui suddenly paused.
"Anything else? Is there anything else?" Professor Guderian pressed.
Gao Kui's facial muscles twitched slightly, and he suddenly felt a dull ache in his head. He shook his head repeatedly, "Don't ask anymore, don't ask anymore, I don't remember, I don't remember anything..."
"Alright, alright, we won't ask anymore, Gao Kui, clear your mind right now and don't think about anything..." Masashi Tomiyama quickly reassured Gao Kui.
After Gao Kui calmed down, Masashi Tomiyama asked the last question: "Can you distinguish between reality and fantasy now?"
What I mean is, do you really believe you're a time traveler, and that this world is just a fictional world from a coming-of-age fantasy novel?
Or is it just a sudden whim, a vague awareness that you are an ordinary person in this world, and that the concepts of transmigrator, dragon, and hybrid are just your imagination?
Then I must be a time traveler!
Gao Kui was absolutely convinced that he was a time traveler. The dragon race and the hybrid race were probably just his wild thoughts when his illness relapsed. But how could it be that he was a time traveler?
Besides "Fireworks Fade Easily," Gao Kui also remembers some other songs and melodies, some of which are works that do not exist in today's music scene.
Returning to the past with memories, or being reborn in a parallel world, copying songs and novels to reverse one's life and become a great writer or a big star—isn't this a typical cheat code in urban entertainment novels?
My own magic touch was just a few years late.
"I think I am a time traveler," Gao Kui was about to answer when he suddenly realized something was wrong; he shouldn't have answered that way.
He was absolutely certain that he was not having an episode and that he was a time traveler who had returned to the past with his memories intact, but it was also an undeniable fact that he had a mental illness in the past.
Four years ago, he stayed in the church for seven days, firmly believing that he was His son, the Messiah, and the Holy Son Emmanuel who had returned to earth.
Then he was forcibly taken away and detained for three months by people from the Kassel Psychological Research Center, who arranged electric shocks, drug treatment, and psychological counseling on him in various ways.
He no longer sees himself as the Messiah; he actually thinks he's an omnipotent Messiah. It's truly hilarious.
Three years ago, he firmly believed that he was Constantine, the detective from Hell, and that everyone else at the research center was possessed by a demon and went mad, turning the research center upside down.
Then came another wave of forced imprisonment, electric shocks, drug treatment, and psychological counseling.
Two years ago, he firmly believed that he was a Japanese high school boy named Shu Ouma with superpowers, and he met a beautiful girl named Inori Yuzuriha at school, who was the love of his life.
But one day Yuzuriha Inori suddenly disappeared. He went crazy searching for the girl named Yuzuriha Inori at Shilan Middle School. He ran all over the junior and senior high school sections during class, searching one classroom after another. He made a huge fuss, and searched until dark and the school closed, but he still couldn't find her.
This time, electric shocks were not used, but drug treatment and involuntary detention were still administered.
Gao Kui has become indifferent to these three experiences, and he is probably indeed suffering from an illness.
How could he possibly be the omnipotent Second Coming Messiah? If he were truly omnipotent, he wouldn't be repeatedly confined to this mental hospital.
He wasn't Constantine either; at the time, Keanu Reeves' "Constantine" had just been released, and he was probably so engrossed in watching it that he became immersed in the character.
The doctors and caregivers at the research center were all very good people, and his fellow patients were all pitiful people, not possessed by any evil spirits. He, however, gave them a good beating.
As for Ouma Shu and his lifelong love Yuzuriha Inori...
He didn't remember. Gao Kui didn't remember anything at all. He only remembered that one day he suddenly discovered that the girl named Yuzuriha Inori had suddenly disappeared, and he frantically searched for her at Shilan Middle School.
He cried out in anguish, "My girl is gone! My girl is gone!"
But there has never been a girl named Yuzuriha Inori at Shilan Middle School. He doesn't remember what Yuzuriha Inori looks like, and he has completely forgotten what he and Yuzuriha Inori did together.
The fact that he searched for her so frantically is enough to prove that he must really like that girl; she must be an extremely beautiful and adorable girl.
He must have had a very romantic experience with that girl named Yuzuriha Inori, like sitting together at the bus stop, eating ice cream and betting on which bus would arrive next.
For example, we might walk home together on a rainy day, chatting and laughing under a worn-out, transparent umbrella, and then promise to meet here again the next day to take the bus to school together...
Why must it be a worn-out, transparent little umbrella?
Because he only had one old, transparent umbrella, exactly the same as the one used by Serizawa Takao in "Crows Zero," which he had used for many years.
But he doesn't remember anything at all, not even a single similar pleasant memory.
If Yuzuriha Inori truly existed, and if he truly loved her, he shouldn't have forgotten her.
This was probably just a fantasy fueled by his adolescent fantasies and budding romantic feelings.
Therefore, he did indeed have an episode, and these three experiences were all due to his grandiose delusions.
But this time is different. Gao Kui thinks he really is a time traveler, a time traveler with the golden finger of urban entertainment novels.
His life is a mess. For the past four years, he has been going in and out of a mental hospital called the Psychological Research Center due to mental illness. His condition has not been cured yet, and he can only be considered a normal person.
He was tormented by mental instability, racing thoughts, auditory hallucinations, and insomnia, causing his grades to plummet. His classmates also became somewhat distant from him. If the school hadn't been afraid of damaging its reputation, it would have expelled him long ago.
Without his cheat code, he could no longer live the life of his dreams, and it would be difficult for him to even be a normal person. Those fragments of memories and those songs are the capital he has to get back on the right track in life.
I can't say I'm convinced I'm a time traveler. If I were, I don't know how they'd treat me—maybe electric shocks, maybe forced imprisonment...
Perhaps a course of treatment will destroy all his hard-won fragments of memory and inspiration.
Gao Kui was preoccupied and lied to Masashi Tomiyama for the first time today: "I'm not so sure."
I do sometimes feel like I'm a time traveler when my attention wanders, but upon closer reflection, I can't find any evidence that I am.
"great!"
Masashi Tomiyama clapped his hands, his eyes beaming with joy: "I knew the treatment over the past four years had been effective. Your condition is getting milder and milder, and the intervals between relapses are getting longer and longer."
Even if you relapse now, you can still distinguish between reality and fantasy when you are concentrating, which proves that your condition has been effectively controlled.
"Gao Kui, stop thinking about time travelers. Go back and continue taking your medication. This mild relapse is normal and won't affect your daily life at all."
Masafumi Toyama realized that Takakui was lying, but Takakui's lying was exactly what he expected, so lying was the right thing to do at this time.
"Ah."
Realizing that Masashi Tomiyama had no intention of arranging for him to be electrocuted or forcibly imprisoned, Takagi remained outwardly calm but inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.
Masashi Tomiyama asked Takagi some more questions, and after confirming that Takagi's relapse was only a mild one as expected, he felt completely relieved.
"Alright, Gao Kui, go back and get some rest, take your medicine as prescribed, and maintain a regular schedule. You'll be taking the college entrance exam in about half a month, which is one of the most important events in a Chinese high school student's life."
"Stay calm and don't be anxious; perhaps something good will happen in a few days."
“Someone like me, who might end up in hell, doesn’t deserve God’s favor.” Gao Kui looked at the several-centimeter-long scar on the inside of his left wrist.
"That's not necessarily true. All sins and blasphemy can be forgiven."
Suicide is indeed a serious crime, but it is not impossible to be forgiven if you sincerely confess and repent.
Masashi Tomiyama smiled mysteriously, then gestured to Sheng Ye and Aki Toku: "Take Gao Kui's medicine for the next month and give it to him."
"Good director."
Shortly after Gao Kui left, the psychological research center located on the outskirts of the city closed its doors.
On the small playground, all the emaciated and mentally unstable patients have returned to normal and are complaining to each other about accompanying the prince in his studies. It must have been really hard to play the role of a mental patient for four years.
The school janitors who play caregivers and doctors don't need any acting skills at all, blah blah blah...
Dean Guderian and his three companions left the director's office, chatting intently with heavy hearts. After making some arrangements, they entered the medical room, where all patients were prohibited from entering.
Chapter 2 Rounding is equivalent to not needing to take medicine
Prohibiting patients from entering is essentially prohibiting Gao Kui from entering.
Apart from Gao Kui, all the patients at this psychological research center are of mixed race from the executive department of Kassel College. For the past four years, they have been monitoring Gao Kui and playing along with his act, all on the orders of Principal Angers.
Guderian pushed open the door and entered.
The medical room wasn't large, and a school janitor posing as an employee was on duty. Seven or eight shelves were stocked with common psychotropic drugs, and all the drugs were genuine.
The wealthy and powerful Kassel College, in order to carry out the orders of the principal of Angers, actually used its connections to establish a mental hospital in this small coastal town in China.
At the far end of the medical room is an inconspicuous little iron door; that is the most important place in this mental hospital.
The four people opened the small iron door and stepped inside, and the narrow, cramped interior space suddenly opened up...
Well, strictly speaking, it wasn't too spacious. The room inside the small iron gate was cluttered with a pile of documents, and in the center was a huge LCD screen, which was divided into 64 smaller screens.
The small house that Gao Kui rented, Gao Kui's classroom at Shilan High School, the crossroads along the way from Gao Kui's home to Shilan High School...
They installed surveillance cameras at all the locations where Gao Kui frequently operated. In addition, there were three small teams led by members of the executive department, working in shifts to monitor and track Gao Kui.
