Chapter 25 One Night with Quirrell
Chapter 25 One Night with Quirrell
"Before that, I would like to offer a suggestion, Professor: what you need right now is medical care and rest."
"Even if you don't want to see Professor Snape, Madam Pomfrey is better at medical magic."
Ryan said he was genuinely worried that Quirrell might die here.
Especially now, Quirrell was trembling even more violently, and this sudden increase in pain made it hard not to suspect that Voldemort was exerting his power.
It's because Quirrell drank the potion I gave him, which angered Voldemort... Ryan really can't find a solution.
Past experience hadn't taught him how to deal with an elderly man who was always with him!
Quirrell shook his head, his thick headscarf swaying as he said, "No, no need. This isn't... a very... serious... problem."
"Professor, if I remember correctly, materials like wormwood and unicorn tail hair can heal injuries. You really need some treatment." Ryan didn't respond, but instead continued to persuade Quirrell to go see a doctor.
Firstly, it was to save people.
Secondly, after suffering severe injuries and Voldemort rubbing salt into his wounds, Quirrell would no longer be loyal to Voldemort.
It's possible that at the beginning of their encounter, Voldemort painted a grand picture for Quirrell and granted him immense power, enabling Quirrell to successfully rob Gringotts.
However, the seemingly powerful Voldemort could only tuck his tail between his legs and run away in front of Dumbledore, and Quirrell himself was also seriously injured.
In Ryan's view, everything that happened tonight was the perfect opportunity to shake Quirrell.
In the dim light, the two looked at each other.
Ryan's gaze was firm, while Quirrell's eyes darted away.
"Oh, yes, I think... a unicorn...?" Quirrell said softly.
"Professor?" Ryan didn't hear what Quirrell was saying.
"I mean, unicorns... are... beautiful... creatures with powerful magic," Quirrell explained.
Ryan got the answer he wanted: Voldemort, who had undergone botched plastic surgery, had become Quirrell's personal old man, seeking an opportunity to take revenge on society like a viper.
Suddenly, Quirrell said again, "Mr. Ryan... could you please... go to... Mrs. Pomfrey... and get... white saffron?"
"sure."
"Please...hurry...thank you."
Ryan went outside, glanced back at Quirrell on the chair, and realized that although his attempt had some effect, Voldemort had interrupted his "spellcasting".
Quirrell's attitude changed too quickly; it must be Voldemort's doing on him.
Was Voldemort afraid that saying too much would reveal his secrets?
He didn't know and planned to go to the principal's office to find someone who did.
As Ryan walked away, Quirrell curled up in the high-backed chair: "Oh, Master, thank you. I do need treatment to better serve you."
"What! You're just sending Ryan away!"
"You want me to drink the blood of a unicorn! No, master, that will bring a terrible curse and an unfortunate fate."
"No, no, your humble servant has not disobeyed your will; your humble servant is forever loyal."
"No, no, no, I didn't lie."
"ah!!!"
After screaming, Quirrell twisted his limbs, put on a cloak that covered his entire body, and left the office in a strange manner, quietly walking out of the castle.
Principal's Office.
Dumbledore and Flitwick were both there. Dumbledore was flipping through a thick copy of "Das Kapital," making annotations with a quill pen as he read.
Flitwick, on the other hand, used magic to construct structures such as atoms and molecules in an attempt to simulate the reaction equations of nuclear fission.
Something about the art style just felt off... Ryan was stunned by the strange art style as soon as he entered.
"Lane, you're back. How did it go?" Dumbledore asked, closing the book.
Ryan recounted their conversation, then said, "I think Voldemort sent me away because he was afraid that saying too much would lead to trouble."
"Ryan, you can broaden your thinking a bit. Think about what Voldemort wants most right now, and then connect that to what you said."
"He returned to the earth as a wizard," Ryan said. "That's why he coveted the Philosopher's Stone."
"Quirinus was involved in protecting the Philosopher's Stone. He knows very well that the two most crucial things in obtaining the Philosopher's Stone are you and me," Dumbledore said. "Your prophecy is beyond his control, so he can only wait for the right opportunity."
"To prevent me from informing you, or from colluding with other professors to set a trap for him, he can only wait for an opportunity when both you and I leave Hogwarts," Ryan said.
"Yes." Dumbledore stood up and walked to the window, from which he could see the Forbidden Forest.
"So, what should Voldemort have done before he succeeded?"
"Voldemort needs to maintain his existence, he needs to maintain his current power. He sent Professor Quirrell to the Room of Requirement, probably because there are items he used to keep there that can help him stabilize his state!" After understanding Voldemort's thoughts, Ryan immediately realized what Dumbledore was trying to say.
"Voldemort wants Professor Quirrell to drink unicorn blood!"
Professor Flitwick's hand-drawn atomic structure collapsed instantly, his face contorted with rage: "Dumbledore, we must stop him immediately!"
"I also cannot accept Voldemort forcing my student, Felius, but we need the help of a Forbidden Forest expert."
Dumbledore picked up his wand: "Let's go. Hopefully, tonight we can save a pure and innocent life, a soul that can still be redeemed."
He led the way, and the three of them soon arrived at Hagrid's Hut outside the Forbidden Forest.
"Hagrid, wake up!" Ryan knocked on the door.
"Ryan? So late, and Dumbledore and Flitwick too!" Hagrid's fluffy head squeezed out from the crack in the door. Seeing who it was, he hurriedly opened the door: "Please come in."
"Hagrid, do you know where the unicorns gather in the Forbidden Forest? Please lead us there." Dumbledore said, "It's urgent, let's talk as we go."
Hearing Dumbledore's serious tone, Hagrid immediately picked up the giant crossbow from behind the door: "Come with me."
He then led the way into the Forbidden Forest. On the way, Dumbledore briefly told Hagrid that a dark wizard would be attacking unicorns in the Forbidden Forest that night, wanting to drink their blood.
"Merlin! This dark wizard must be Mysterio!" Hagrid exclaimed.
"Why would you think that?" Ryan almost thought Hagrid was the prophet.
"I can't imagine any other dark wizard doing something so evil..."
As they spoke, Hagrid, carrying a giant crossbow, led the way, followed by Ryan, with Dumbledore and Flitwick on either side of Ryan.
The three people formed a triangle, protecting Ryan in the middle.
In team fights, protecting the support is paramount... A strong sense of déjà vu made Ryan realize his role, and he drew his wand to buff his teammates.
"Armor for protection!"
Ryan's signature Triple Armor Charm worked smoothly and normally on Hagrid and Flitwick.
However, the magic power consumed by Professor Flitwick's armor charm was many times that of Hagrid's, which was inversely proportional to their size.
Then he realized that the armor charm he was trying to cast on Dumbledore had failed!
It wasn't that the large amount of magic power he had expected was completely depleted; rather, it simply became ineffective!
"Excellent armor spells and triple casting; I think we still need some light," Dumbledore's voice came from beside him.
Ryan couldn't understand why the spell had failed, but he still raised his wand: "Flash!"
Clusters of fireflies emerged from the tip of his staff, surrounding the group of four.
The tiny points of light also have the effect of dispelling the power of darkness, giving people a warm and reassuring feeling.
This is a glowing spell cast by Ryan using his external magic armband.
Some of the light also seeped into Hagrid's crossbow, giving the bolts a touch of magic.
"Well done, Ryan!" Hagrid said.
"Truly remarkable." Dumbledore noticed Lane's armband. "Without a doubt, you are among the most gifted students Hogwarts has had in a hundred years."
