Chapter 127 Wonder Woman vs. Batman
Chapter 127 Wonder Woman vs. Batman
Chapter 127 Wonder Woman vs. Batman (Please read on, my child has already submitted their reading!)
Amanda Waller stood up.
She was an obese Black woman, but her eyes shone with a wisdom completely different from that of those foolish people.
He was now sitting in a conference room at the military base with Air Force Colonel Steve Trevor. The room was empty; it was just the two of them.
One is a seasoned master of secret services, and the other is America's first person to make contact with superhumans. Together, they represent almost 99% of the people in their 982 million square kilometer country who are most knowledgeable about superhuman matters.
Amanda Waller stood up, swaying her ample hips, and with just two simple steps, the two buttons on the front of her suit jacket seemed about to pop open with her movements.
She went to the computer and fiddled with it for a while, and then the speakers started playing music.
"I've heard of a mysterious chord—"
"It was King David who played this music to please the Lord..."
"But you don't really care about music, do you?"
On the screen, the American gods descended like a celestial being, the monsters from outer space were utterly defeated, and the world was peaceful and beautiful.
The singing continued to resound.
"Do you really have to keep this music playing non-stop, Waller?"
Steve, with his blond hair, hunched over and sat on the sofa, his fingers interlaced, revealing his strong forearms and muscular build.
"The battles of the gods need the praise of hymns," Amanda replied. The two of them watched the battle on the screen, which far exceeded the limits of human imagination, and fell silent together.
Steve broke the silence.
"If...if such a battle breaks out in the heart of the metropolis..."
"Completely powerless, without a doubt. Colonel Trevor."
[At this point, I hope readers will remember our domain name 1110 ...
They were silent for a moment, then Amanda Waller suddenly said, "If that Amazonian woman you brought..."
"Her name is Diana Prince, Waller." Steve didn't even turn his head.
"I'm warning you, your current attitude is dangerous. She is a mentally sound adult woman, but perhaps because she is not very familiar with the outside world, she may seem silly and naive at times, and you can even use some simple tricks to interfere with her behavior."
But that doesn't mean you can fool her. If you treat her like a restrictive device or a secret weapon, just like the Five-Star Building, you'll definitely be disappointed.
Amanda Waller did not directly refute Steve, she said:
"But you also know very well, Steve, that Five Star won't just let Diana play her vigilante games in Boston forever."
As the only superhuman currently connected to the authorities and proven capable of influencing and obeying official orders, you can't rely on your influence to keep Diana out of Five Star's sight forever.
Steve knew perfectly well that Amanda was telling the truth.
He looked at the screen.
Doomsday was brutally beaten.
Batman, Superman, Lex Luthor, and Parasite—the four of them nearly destroyed this alien monster.
Steve watched as a green shockwave shot out from Luthor's cannon, followed closely by Batman's iron fist.
"Lex Luthor has many friends in the Department of Defense. Soon Luthor will receive some kind of medal they made up on the spot, and will be called a five-star good citizen. Batman and Superman will be wanted, and Parasite will be captured and taken back to continue experimenting on them."
Amanda Waller shrugged. "Sure, I'm sure Batman will soon be making house calls to those who ordered his arrest, and then everything will be fine, just like I experienced a few years ago. Did I tell you when I first met Batman?"
Steve didn't reply, so Amand Waller answered his own question:
"In 2007, he broke through the most heavily fortified defenses and crushed dozens of fully armed and most capable soldiers like butter."
Amanda let out a soft chuckle that Steve couldn't quite decipher: "After he finished beating the guy, he sat on the edge of my bed, and you know what he said to me? He told me not to go too far. It was hilarious."
But the plump, black-clad woman quickly wiped the smile off her face: "But you know things are different now, right, Steve?"
Amanda walked over and poured herself a drink. She looked at Steve, but he waved her away.
"From the moment that person first presented himself to the public, history was already divided into two periods."
Amanda drank it all in one gulp.
"The period before Superman's arrival...and the period after his arrival."
On the screen, Batman punches Doomsday high into the air, then grabs his ankle and slams him to the ground like a bowling stick.
He yelled at Superman, "Quick! Open the Phantom Zone!"
Amanda Waller squinted.
"Have you heard that urban legend? 'Batman always wins.' I thought that urban legend would lose its power when it came to superhumans who could lift thousands or tens of thousands of tons."
She looked at the screen.
"But the Phantom Zone won't open—"
"Ha, what are you talking about?"
Batman used a rear-naked choke to subdue the struggling monster, slamming its head against the ground repeatedly. His hands, pressing down on Doomsday's neck, pounded the monster's head so hard it shook like a bobblehead.
Then he straightened up, continuing to clamp down on Doomsday like an iron clamp, while the parasitic demon pounced on him to drain his energy, letting out a high-pitched moan: "Ah ...
Luther lunged forward, swinging his fist. His left arm armor spun halfway around, then his fist pounded into Doomsday's face like a pile driver: "How do we kill this monster?"
He shouted, "Think of a way to kill them in one strike, quick!"
Then Batman yelled back, "Shut up! Just fight! I'll figure out the solution!"
"Batman really adapts to this inhuman era, huh?"
Amanda Waller swirled her glass: "I guess we'll have to adapt too, Steve."
She asked very seriously, "Did the Five Star Building mention that plan to you?"
Steve said sullenly, "The plan was to make us enemies of those people on the screen."
"Aside from Luther, there are only two people among those who, excluding the parasite, are not counted."
Amanda said, "Batman and Superman. And we're not going to fight them or kill them, we just want to recruit them, at least to keep them from running around like wild huskies. Don't make it so serious, Steve, we're not some warlike Americans..."
"They're all the same."
Amanda was speechless. She wisely skipped that topic and continued:
"Okay, Trevor, let's talk about the current problem. That alien monster... Batman calls it Doomsday."
She said, "You know, we would never let Superman, or Batman, or even Lex Luthor take away that monster's body."
"Neither the Parasite nor Doomsday can be owned by individuals. This is the government's bottom line."
Steve glanced at her sideways, and their conversation finally got to the point.
"So you're here as a lobbyist, Waller."
"Stop, stop, stop, Steve Trevor, I'm warning you seriously, your identity is that of a U.S. Air Force colonel, not that of Amazon... Diana Prince's American tour guide."
"Do you really know what you're doing? You're going against the will of the Five Stars for her sake. Those politicians won't be as lenient as I am. They let you cultivate your relationship with Diana, just so he can be used at the most crucial moment, and now they think that's the most crucial moment."
Steve remained silent.
Then he said:
"Diana might not be able to defeat Superman and Batman together."
"Steve—stop saying things like that. We want to communicate effectively."
Seeing that Steve hadn't spoken yet, Amanda Waller told him, "More than ten nuclear bombs are ready. Hey, look at me, Steve. Don't you often see those idiotic politicians in American blockbusters who think nuclear bombs can solve everything?"
Do you think that idiots who want to test every new thing they see with a nuclear bomb to see if they can physically destroy it only exist in American movies? Well, let me tell you, in reality, not only do such people exist, but there are many of them. The most troublesome thing is that these fools wield great power and have perfectly legitimate reasons.
She grabbed Steve by the collar: "They've tolerated you for too long, Steve. I know you're a smooth talker, you're good at building relationships, and you have a huge network, but there are limits to all of that."
Seeing that Steve didn't react, Amanda Waller's tone became slightly calmer:
"You are a respected leader, Colonel Trevor. You are loyal and compassionate, like a Knight of the Round Table. But a soldier's duty is to obey orders, and you know there are some things you have to face."
"How am I supposed to talk to Diana?" Steve said. "The government behind me wants you to help us steal some of the alien monster's limbs for our evil research to fight two other superheroes? And the government wants your relationship to deteriorate, to escalate into a blood feud?"
"Tell me, am I really supposed to say these things to Diana?"
Amanda Waller didn't answer Steve's question directly. He knew that the other man wasn't some innocent and harmless little boy; he just needed an outlet to vent his guilt about deceiving his friend.
Amanda Waller patted Steve on the shoulder: "You didn't deceive her, you just... didn't tell her some facts for the sake of the country. And she didn't ask you, did she?"
Colonel Steve Trevor sighed.
He stood up and dialed the phone.
A few minutes later.
Amanda Waller asked impatiently:
"Diana Prince, our Wonder Woman... how long will it take her to get to the battlefield?"
Colonel Steve glanced at her sideways: "He's already left Boston, at Wonder Woman's speed..."
He said, "It should only take about 10 minutes."
He explained in a low voice, "It's about 2000 miles from Boston to Kansas. You've tested Superman's speed, haven't you? That red and blue Boy Scout took 9.4 minutes to fly that distance. Wonder Woman is a little slower."
He said:
"Just go slower."
……
……
……
With a loud bang, Chen Tao grabbed Doomsday's head and twisted it backward forcefully.
With a deafening roar, the giant monster crashed to the ground and lay motionless.
Lex Luthor's armor was torn open, and he collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.
The parasite was no longer the muscular creature it once was. Fed with huge, unlimited portions, it had become a massive, obese man, a huge, purple mountain of flesh lying on the ground. Rudy Jones lay there, emitting a laugh like an idiot: "Hehehehehe, so full, I'm about to burst, it feels so good—"
Chen Tao looked down at him: "You..."
He shook his head, deactivated his transformation, and landed on the ground. Then he turned to look at Clark Kent, who was fiddling with the equipment there.
"So the Phantom Zone still can't be opened?"
The other party shook their head: "No, we are under a very strong spatial shield." Clark was a little nervous: "This is not Earth's technology."
"This is getting a bit bad." Chen Tao turned to look at Luther, the glint in the other's eyes giving him a headache.
The most important reason why he wanted Clark to open the Phantom Zone and throw Doomsday in instead of killing him outright was this.
He never underestimated human greed, nor did he ever underestimate Lex Luthor's ability to cause trouble.
Not only Luther, but from the very beginning, he thoroughly investigated everyone in the government. Chen Tao turned his head and looked at the drones circling and hovering in the sky.
Some of these drones were made by Lex Luther to monitor the scene, while many more were from the Five Star Building.
Chen Tao knew very well what terrible things these people were capable of, but as long as things didn't go as badly as possible, he...
Chen Tao turned to Lex Luthor: "Doomsday is not a monster we can control. Luthor is a Kryptonian weapon, and I believe what we are seeing now is only an incomplete version—"
But before he could finish speaking, he saw the light in Luthor's eyes. The other man seemed even more excited upon hearing about Kryptonian weapons and ultimate weapons.
Chen Tao gave up trying to persuade him, and the two became implicitly at odds.
"You don't want to fight me here, Lex, and you really think you can beat me and Superman?"
Chen Tao grabbed Doomsday's corpse, and immediately the Alfred Protocol flashed on his retina.

Chen Tao wasn't in the mood to deal with these things for the time being.
He turned his head and sensed something moving at supersonic speed rushing toward the battlefield.
"Look what that is, Superman."
Soon, the Superman binoculars provided the answer, causing Chen Tao's heart to sink.
"A woman in outlandish clothes, Batman. Armed with a sword and shield, she flies incredibly fast!"
"Diana Prince".
Chen Tao silently murmured, "Wonder Woman!"
