The pliers gripped the pork belly and placed it on the fire. With a crackling sound and sizzling fat, the meat soon turned a golden brown.
Spare moved the tongs, brought the meat to his mouth, took a bite, chewed a few times, and then swallowed it.
gurgle...gurgle gurgle...
Hanabi's stomach was growling loudly. Even though she was a natural actress, the girl couldn't keep up the act anymore, and tears welled up in her eyes.
"Want to eat?"
Spa picked up another piece of grilled meat, held it in front of Hanahō, and pressed it against the girl's nostrils, letting the aroma of the meat fill her nose.
“Ugh…” Hanabi nodded.
"That's it..."
Spa moved the iron clamps and brought the meat to Hanabi's lips.
He suddenly pulled his wrist back and stuffed the pork belly into his mouth again.
"Good meat isn't fed to little brats!" Spah scoffed.
"I'll tell you! I'll tell you!"
Fireworks cried out, its white jade feet kicking wildly.
"Say what?"
Spall stopped teasing Hanabi, put down the tongs, raised an eyebrow, and turned his gaze toward Hanabi.
Hanabi lowered her head, looking aggrieved.
But the next second, she suddenly raised the corners of her mouth, chuckled softly, and said:
"I was just kidding you earlier! The guy you were chasing hasn't been to the Wasteland for the past few days. But..."
"But what?"
Spah's brow twitched, a bad feeling rising in his heart. But he still controlled his expression, not letting his emotions show on his face.
"However, just as you were chasing me, he already arrived here. Judging by the time, the operation is almost complete..."
Hanabi squinted, her lips curving upwards.
Spah felt a sudden surge of mockery, wanting nothing more than to beat Hanabi up, but he suppressed his emotions.
Don't do that... Spa!
Emotions can't solve problems.
Spall sneered, grabbed a slice of meat, stuffed it into his mouth and chewed, then leaned close to Hanabi, pulled out a pistol, and pressed it against her forehead:
"Tell me where that guy is right now! You dare to mess with me? I'll shoot you dead! But if I find him, I'll send you a truckload of barbecue!"
"Hehe! I knew this deal would happen."
Even though she was tied up and her stomach was growling with hunger, Hanabi still blinked and maintained her smile:
"Actually! Your target is not far away... It was really fun luring you here on purpose!"
Fireworks blinked. Spa stared intently into the girl's eyes, straining his ears to listen to her heartbeat.
Unfortunately, all Spah heard was his heart pounding, a steady rhythm, making it impossible to tell if he was lying.
Spa smacked his lips and withdrew the black snake.
Fireworks, freed from the iron bars, was about to slip away when Spa grabbed her bow tie and lifted her up:
"You lead the way for me, and don't try anything funny!"
"Ugh, this is so boring..." Hanabi pointed in a certain direction, drooped her head, and muttered to herself.
Ignoring the girl's emotions, Spaco grabbed her and ran in the direction she was pointing.
The road was littered with remnants of steel bars. Piles of stones were stacked together, inexplicably forming a stone road.
Spah frowned, feeling vaguely uncomfortable, but couldn't quite put his finger on why. He only sensed that the surrounding atmosphere was becoming increasingly dense.
Spall even suspected that these memories had solidified. But he looked around and saw no sign of it.
Something's weird! I need to keep an eye on it.
Spall thought to himself, and before long, he arrived at an open space.
The open space, like the roadside, was piled high with stones and steel bars. Only, on the ground, there was an extra piece of real insect remains.
The wreckage was entirely purple and had a pair of crab-like pincers. To Spah, the appearance was all too familiar.
Baltan... the experimental subject created by Ruan Mei
Why is it here?
A thought flashed through Spa's mind. But the thought only lingered for a moment before Spa's attention was drawn to something else.
He saw that there was a strange mask painted on the insect's shell.
Beneath the mask, V-shaped lips curve upwards, seemingly smiling, yet cone-shaped teardrops flow from the lower part of its pupils.
This is the image of the Fool.
Spah was slightly taken aback, and a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips.
He crouched down, intending to use [Melancholy Blues], but suddenly heard a "crack" sound of pebbles being trampled beside his ear.
He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a man wearing a snow-white mask standing not far away.
caught you!
Spah licked his lips, about to step forward and draw his gun to attack.
But then he realized he wasn't calm enough, so he took a deep breath, forcibly suppressed his emotions, and slowly walked forward.
As Spa moved closer, he could see the other person's snow-white hair and the corpses scattered at the other person's feet, broken into pieces.
Spall knew he had the right target and drew his charged gun. However, before he could pull the trigger, the Fool turned around.
Spall saw that the Fool was engulfed in orange flames. And the spot where he had been standing suddenly collapsed, with countless cracks spreading outwards.
Creak! Creak, creak...
The cracks spread to Spa's feet, and his footing collapsed like building blocks in an instant.
Just by charging up... that much destructive power?
Spall was secretly alarmed, but not afraid. Instead, he stepped on the stones and used the momentum to rush towards the Fool.
The Crying Fool raised his right fist and slammed it down, sending crimson flames crashing down on Spa like a tidal wave.
In an instant, Spa's vision was filled with red, and the heat surged, causing the surrounding rocks to melt and evaporate.
Spah completely lost his footing. Normally, he could use Ether Editing to summon jet boots and fly.
Unfortunately, his memory is now damaged, making it impossible for him to use ether to create things and thus impossible for him to fly.
However, Spah remained completely unperturbed.
Golden light shimmered beneath his feet, forming an energy shield. Spah stepped on the shield, charged into the heatwave, and threw a punch.
Halfway through the punch, a golden circular shield, two meters in diameter, was created, effectively blocking the flames.
However, Spa is not content with just defense.
He stomped his feet, pressing his entire body against the energy shield, defying the heat as he charged toward the Crying Fool.
Before long, he burst through the wall of fire, rushed in front of the Fool, and swung his straight punch, fiercely attacking the man's heart.
The fool, unwilling to be beaten, threw a punch at the same time, and in an instant, their fists collided.
when!
A clanging sound rang out, like metal striking metal. A shockwave, centered on the two bodies, spread outwards in all directions.
The ground caved in, forming a deep pit tens of meters wide in less than half a second. Countless pebbles flew everywhere with a crackling sound.
"Ah! When gods fight, mortals suffer! You two aren't both Commanders, are you? You're insanely strong!"
Fireworks were shouting nearby. Pebbles clattered and crashed against her face, causing her to clutch her head and flee into the distance.
On the battlefield, clashes also determine victory or defeat.
Spall gained the upper hand, forcing the Fool back. Unwilling to give up his chance, he seized the opportunity and punched his opponent in the face.
The crying fool leaned back and staggered several meters.
Spahic, however, was unwilling to pursue the matter further.
He felt that the sensation of the fist just now was not like hitting a mask, but more like hitting a metal object.
This is... utterly unbelievable.
Moreover, given the fool's cunning nature, why would he want to confront me head-on? Wouldn't that be foolish?
unless
He's not a fool at all!
Thinking of this, Spa rolled his eyes, took a few steps back, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a topaz.
The stone glowed, and the giant golden eye reappeared.
Along with the giant eye, the Fool's figure vanished, replaced by a white mech with gold stripes.
"Sam?"
Spah was surprised to see the true form of the Crying Fool.
But when he looked around, he saw an even more unbelievable scene, which immediately filled him with surprise and wonder.
Chapter 36 The Eye of Horus
The environment was pitch black, as if one were in a vacuum.
Kosper pricked up his ears, but heard a gurgling sound, as if something was contracting back and forth.
Spah mobilized the power of his destiny and focused it into his eyes. His vision gradually cleared, but he saw a pale purple wall covered in slime.
As he got closer and examined it more closely, he discovered that it was not a wall at all, but a whole piece of meat.
Slippery fluid dripped from the chunks of meat, falling onto his body and rising in wisps of smoke, corroding Spa's clothes.
Could this be... gastric juice?
Spah swallowed hard.
He never imagined that he would be swallowed by some creature without his knowledge, and that it would probably be digested soon.
So... why did they fall for it?
Spah turned his head and noticed that the surrounding memory was denser than in other parts of the desolate knowledge land, even comparable to Pinocchio. Even a strong-willed pathfinder would be trapped in hallucinations because of it.
Thankfully... I was able to escape the illusion using the Eye of Horus.
Through my protective powers, I can withstand the erosion. However, if I continue fighting Sam, my stamina will eventually be exhausted.
Spall muttered to himself, but then he heard a buzzing sound in his ear.
He shifted his gaze and saw the slime dripping onto Sam, creating plumes of white smoke. But the other ignored it, spewing out flames and whipping up hot air as it attacked him.
Spah gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.
Golden light gathered in his fist, aiming at the flesh wall, but Sam rushed in front of him, and the heat swept over him.
Bang!
The golden light transformed into a shield, blocking the attack.
Spah took two steps back, gathering his strength once more. But Sam dodged the shield, his hand transforming into a blade, and with a powerful cleaving motion, he struck towards Spah's forehead.
Spa dared not be careless and deployed his energy shield, easily blocking the attack, but he had no time to gather his strength to break through the barrier.
This is really troublesome... Looks like I'll just tear this damn mech of yours apart first!
Spall hardened his heart, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes. He turned his hand into a claw and aimed straight for Sam's head.
In the blink of an eye, the hand reached for the mask.
Ring! Ring ring ring...
Just then, the cell phone rang.
